Ok, thanks for the help, I found some things that were not configured correctly, have been able to adjust tire size and kind of have TPMS somewhat configured. New problem, how do I set the minimum tire pressure alarm, I have the cold pressure set at 65.

Yes - it works fine on a 2012. Actually the software works back to 2005 - 2006 on Ram's, it came out way before the 2013's were even built, and it wasn't even designed for our truckz. It was targeted toward Fiat's and Alfa Romeos, (1994 and up), and someone discovered that since FCA bought Chrysler, they share the same modules . Not sure how it was determined it was only for 2013 and up, but's that's not accurate
THANK YOU!!! Just never hurts to ask and be sure!!! Appreciate the response!!!!!!!!!!

Read this on the Jeep Garage Alfaobd thread, regarding Nav In Motion:

JG Member:

I emailed Alexey and got this:

“I'm only aware of " ECUConfig 3 - Disable Navigation Lockout " setting (or
" ECUConfig 3 - CTP Navigation Haptic Speller Enabled ", the same setting
under a different name on some cars) . Maybe this option should be enabled
together with the "Cust.Set.Menu 1 - Navigation Turn-by-Turn CSM Present" .
If this doesn't enable the nav in motion, sorry I have no ideas at the
moment.”

JG Menber: Someone try it and let us know if it changes anything.

What do you guys think?

I'm on the road and away from my vehicle.

Any takers?

From what I was able to determine back when I looked into the Nav-In-Motion settings, it's an old setting that, while still present in the BCM, the newer radio firmware versions ignore.

Sorry I'm sure the answer is in here somewhere...........I have an 18 Ram Power Wagon and would like to add the memory option and possibly rear heated seats. I know the prgramming is available in ALPHA OBD which I have but does anyone have a part list for me to accomplish these things?

It would depend on what wiring (if any) is already there.

This thread is for 1500 tradesman/express but should offer some help: https://www.ramforum.com/threads/ho...-and-heated-wheel-to-express-tradesman.96759/

As far as the rears go, when I was looking to add them to my 1500, I think I cam to the conclusion that you need to have the center console, not the jump seat....the factory switches mount to the rear of the console. i could be wrong, but all of the trucks I saw with rear heated seats also had the console.

You would also need the harnesses that go from the switches (in the console, or wherever) to the actual seat heaters. The seats would need to come out of a fairly well optioned truck....get the VIN of the truck you are looking at and then get the window sticker (add your VIN after the equals sign here: https://www.ramtrucks.com/hostd/windowsticker/getWindowStickerPdf.do?vin=) or the build sheet (here: https://fcacommunity.force.com/RAM/s/equipment-listing) to make sure it had rear heated seats.

yeah the power wagons have the options for rear heated sets and none of them have a center console so I know it's possible to add them. The wiring is already there under the rear seats.

I’m pretty new to the forum and Rams, what’s with this Alfa obd thing? So I can buy it, download an app, and then add whatever features I want to my truck? Do I need a special code or pin?

I need some help with my AlfaOBD setup. I have AlfaOBD software installed and licensed on my Windows 10 laptop. I have an OBDLink MX WLAN interface. I have the network connection to the OBDLink from my laptop set up as 192.168.0.20 and the channel is 1. I tried the Regular Mode on AlfaOBD and I get errors and no communication. I set the Brand as Dodge/RAM, the Model as RAM 3500(D2/DD/DR), When that failed I then tried the Advanced Mode and set the IP address as above and the IP port as 1.The device selected is Body Computer Chrysler. Modification is set to rRAM 1500/2500/3500/4500. I have also tried all the generic modules. The error I keep getting is “Could not access WLAN :No connections could be made because the target machine actively refused it” 192.168.0.20:1.

I should also mention I have the OBDLink software and it has no trouble communicating with the truck.

I’m also trying to get Windows 10 to stay connected by configuring a static IP address. I’m not sure how to set the “port” though. In IP settings you can set the IP address, subnet prefix length, gateway, preferred and alternate DNS. No port setting though. I’ve tried setting the IP address to 192.168.0.11 and get the same complaint.

Under advanced in AlfaOBD the default settings have not been changed. I’m using the BAFX WiFi scanner. Has anyone set this up successfully?

To set the port you just explicitly tell the program what port to use when connecting by appending it to the IP address. For example, to connect to port 81 you would simply enter in the connection IP as "192.168.50.2:81" (where 192.168.50.2 gets replaced with your IP you set and :81 gets replaced with whatever port you'd like to use).

Got my tablet, OBDlink Mx, and AlphaOBD software last week for my OEM brake controller install and it is a very useful tool. Everything worked great and while I was doing the brake controller install I did the Fog light on with high beams and Global Windows down with the keyfob mod. Awhile back I seen a thread on the different splash screens that are available and possibly some new themes they might unlock... anyone happen to have a link or pictures of that?

Thanks!

A little walk through of how to program FOBIKs

First turn you truck on to accessory.(I always do this to connect to the RF Hub)

8501a8b395486c891ec6e27e9b7a3d4c.jpg
Select Radio frequency hub(RFH)
In the drop down select Radio frequency hub(this is the only option to select here)

Connect to the RF Hub

c828d9a7098b1a9055ce897044ecaebd.jpg
Once you’re connected. Locate the Car with the hood up on the bottom right hand corner. Click on it

d0a0d9fdd9d0a89bedf2cb936fecde20.jpg
Click on the drop down menu. Almost all the way at the bottom select - Program Ignition FOBIKs Baseline system

At this point turn your key to the Lock Position(turn the truck off) and remove the key from the ignition

e3e1a2d14a130da3c37faf5091b25583.jpg
Place the FOBIK(Key) you’re wanting to program in the ignition and leave it in the off position

Enter you 4 digit pin provided by your local dealership

f3d01aaf189dffe683eeb8962ed997b5.jpg
Click Start. Your screen should look something like this!

703ce1d29156d82870ab986a4fba7fdb.jpg
Once the process is complete you will see Procesure complete in blue. Please note the above dialogue box will say “FOBIK successfully paired” I think lol

If a key is already Paired to your truck. You will get the Failure error. “Failure FOBIK already learned”

Now start you truck up to make sure it was successfully paired!

The lock buttom on my fob wore out since I use it to do the remote start thing all the time so I purchased a new fob on ebay. It was not programmed for anything. I followed the Alpha OBD instructions to program it and it worked just fine. I checked my spare fob and it worked fine as well. When I remote started the truck this morning with the new fob all four tires were lit up red telling me to add air to 60 psi. They were set to 39 psi and all was well since I had 40 psi in them. When I programmed the new fob it seems to have changed the tpms threshold. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it normal for that to happen when programming a new un-programmed fob? I don't know if I get the same error with one of the original fobs. I'll check that later and post an update. If the original fob gives me the correct pressures should I update the pressures on the new fob using Alpha? Thanks.

Possible when you reset the RF hub while doing the keys it reread the TPMS settings. I would check what the setting are and go through the TPMS setup again.

I did go back and reset the psi settings and the reset of the rf hub and all is well. Thank you.

If you had any dealerships updates done, after they took that feature away from them, one of the early updates wrote the thresholds back to factory.
When you reset Rf hub, it finally wrote new values.

They got me twice that way.

You should be good until another update if you go in for it.

I’m sure this has been answered somewhere in the thousands of posts here but I couldn’t find it. I have a simple and possibly dumb question. Is AlfaOBD Saving information about your specific vehicle when you use it? I’m basically asking is with AlfaOBD can I program and make changes to other friends Ram’s and Jeeps without any issue? Or if I plug into someone else’s Ram is it going to save their parameters and then when I plug back into mine cause issues? Back in the day when we used to use things like the HyperTech power programmer it would basically swap your ECM‘s information with the new program and save it. Meaning you couldn’t use the programmer for anyone else

You can save setting to Google drive, but Alfa does not save any changes you made.

So good to play on others vehicles.
