Carven 5” Tips vs Factory Tips Comparison

New Ram owner and new to the forum. Just installed some Carven 5” tips. Figured I’d show a comparison between the factory tips vs the Carven 5” tips.

There's definitely no comparison and absolutely no reason to put chrome tips on a Night Edition truck from the factory.

I feel the same way about the Rebel. Matte black bumper and matte black tips. Go great together.

Moes 5” tips on mine, I liked the rolled edge

Carven now has a new dual wall 5" tip which is replacing the old version. I like em! I have the old style also.

Those dual walls look nice. I bet they stopped the single wall due to warranty claims. I had the Carvens and they started rusting at the internal welds and faded bad, coating was chalky if you touched it your hands would be black. I sent email with pics and they sent me a new set right away so their customer service is great. Unfortunately those rusted too so I just got Moes instead. There’s been members that had chrome Moes tips with issues too though. If these go bad I might try the new version Carven.

The rolled edge on Moe's is nice. The dual wall upgrade to the Carven tips looks really nice.

I’m sure it looks “fine” but my granite Crystal Metallic sport looks AMAZING with the black 5” Carvens.
Everyone should consider this upgrade. They sound great with an aftermarket exhaust too.

I went with chrome because I like chrome and the black seems to disappear under the truck. To each their own though. [emoji41]

I'm in the rust belt so I'm not sure how long v1's will last. We shall both see.


My biggest issue is getting it registered and plated since I purchased it out of state and covid-19 has affected the speed in which the BMV moves these days. It was bad before and now it's just ridiculous.

Just keep an eye on it, I noticed mine when we pulled in the dway in my wifes Charger I could see down the tips. Their customer service was great. I bought mine from them directly so it was easy to prove purchase and all they needed were some pics and bam they sent me a new set, didnt even want the old ones back. I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again, I like those new tips.
