There's a TT thread and I figured there should be a boat thread. We all want to show 'em off. This is going to mine this coming Tuesday. My bigger boats were named "Two Beers". This one will be "Two Beers' Last Call". At least we'll call it that. Not figuring on plastering the sides with it. The transom area is small. But this will be my last last one I buy/own. 19848.jpeg

Nice setup. Do you know the tongue weight? I ask because I was just building a 2500 and wondering if I was going to sacrifice anything in the suspension by getting the Off-Road package that you have. That pic doesn't seem to show any rear end sag.

When I first looked, I thought you had an airboat there. It oughta run in some skinny water
Depending on what's in the boat, less than a foot. Outboard tilts out of the water, use trolling motor.

Yes. I weighed it at the scales last fall. I'd have to dig out my paperwork but it was about 650lbs. In that pic I posted the boat was too far back on the trailer so there is less tongue weight in that pic. I moved it forward about 10-12". I also got a slightly lower drop insert (Curt 4" drop 20,000lb 2.5"). Here is a pic from this spring when I pulled it from storage. I had taken the swim platform off to work on it over winter. The truck drops about 1" in the rear with it hooked up as measured at the rear wheel wells.

My son tows an 8000lb travel trailer with his 2018 2500 with off-road package (identical to mine). He hasn't measured his tongue weight but I'd guess it's at least 1000lbs. He has a Husky TS Centerline WDH and his barely squats.

Great info and pics, thanks for the reply! How does the truck ride while not towing (not meaning to hijack the thread)?

Tons of room for 3 guys, outrageous amount for two guys.
handle all the water I will ever be on
200 Hp Mercury.

Fished a Lake Eufaula tournament, back in the late 90's. Pre-fish, day before, 30mph winds with gusts up to 50+. we were the only ones to get one the water. Others tried but the emergency bilge kicking on while their boat was still on the trailer, being backed into the Lake turned most away.

those few who did manage to get off their trailers, quickly found the waves and spray far too much and got off the water without ever getting beyond the no wake buoy.

We got the occasional spray but not bad.
|Caught fish, which is only thing that mattered

Last 40 years, I've rigged a ton of boats, for friends and the like, have yet to find one I prefer over this one. For tubing, pulling skiers, yes. plenty of better boats.
For Pure fishing? have not found one yet.

Then again, I rarely spend any time, WOT across a lake. 30 minutes is most I can ever recall and that only a few times. most of my time is spent fishing or trolling at 0.7 to 1.,2 MPH. If that big motor is running for long, something is seriously messed up.

Do love my trolling motor!
Just hit my Way points, on the depth finder, and tell the trolling motor to go to next one in the line.

Get there and hit spot anchor lock to fish the crap out of that spot., when done, release spot lock anchor and tell trolling motor to take me to next way point.

All I got to do is look up, once in awhile, to make sure we don't hit anything.

A little rough when empty but it's a 2500. Have to expect that

Thanks. Yep, for sure. I was wondering if the Off Road package included shocks/springs that had more travel, decreasing the payload max but it seems not to be the case.

From what I hear the Off-Road sits about 1" higher than the standard 2500 but I haven't verified that. Haven't ridden in another 2500 to compare either so can't help there. Pretty sure mine does have the upgraded Bilsteins that come with the Off-Road package. My payload is 2973lbs

Cool, thanks for that. If that's right re payload, looks like the OR package might drop 300lbs. I think the payload for your rig w/o OR is 3280lbs. Thanks again for the replies/info...

Yeah I got that 2973 off my yellow door sticker, And weighed it at the scales. ~7250 with me in it and 1/2 tank of gas (I weigh 270).
