Hey Folks..... this might seem like a dumb question, but im gonna ask :)
I am doing a complete dash swap from a 14 CC Sport to my 14 RCSB ST, would i need to look into this wiring ? Or should it be plug and play as im direct swapping the dash?

On a side note- i currently have the 3.0 Radio, but will be installing a Pioneer DD mechless receiver when i swap the dash, so anything i should be looking at there?

Do you already have handsfree/BT capability (mics in headliner)?

Where does your backup camera display?

Are you an Android or Apple phone user?

You need: an
* 2018/19 classic Ram 8.4 radio
* 2013-18/19c 8.4 radio bezel
(Single Zone 1uj96xxxx or Dual Zone 1uj97xxxx will work. Or custom Single Zone ATC? see post 8 of ATC Thread.)
* 2018 HVAC module for 1500's
* 2018 Premium USB Hub

7 speed Conversion harness (w/ATC Pt1?)
(Part 2 ATC harness & both sensors needed to complete ATC install, plus AlfaOBD programming)

18/19 classic RADIO:
68331631AH, AK, etc (UAQ 4c Nav)
or 68331635AH, AF, etc (UAS 4c)

18 Premium USB Hub (Supports Apple vs stock one)
PN: 68328704AC, AD, etc (RAM)

* 18 HVAC module
* 14-18 ram 1500's (& 19 Classic) have a variable displacement compressor (typ. associated with the 7 speed fan)
>> 18/19's w/UAx = 68366552AA,AC etc HVAC module (ie UAQ Radio)

& the current thinking is to match the HVAC module to the 8.4 radio year, but there have been several HVAC Blend/Temperature issues with the UAx radio upgrade that are fixed with the ATC Mod....

Who you may need Single Zone ATC with the conversion harness to avoid issues... You should at least get part 1 built into the harness ($35) to avoid paying $140 for part 1 add-on later.

>>> I don't ship outside of USA/Canada ... You'd need a re-shipping service <<<

Thanks for the detailed explanation.

Here are my comments:

1-
18/19 classic RADIO:
68331631AH, AK, etc (UAQ 4c Nav)
or 68331635AH, AF, etc (UAS 4c)
==> What is the difference between the radios part number ending AH, AK, AF, etc?
And if I get the UAS model (w/o NAV) it shouldn't matter what region I live in, correct?

2-
18 Premium USB Hub (Supports Apple vs stock one)
PN: 68328704AC, AD, etc (RAM)
==> My truck comes with this media hub, that means I dont need to upgrade this?
roxy.php?image=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FZgu4bUn.png

3-
* 18 HVAC module
* 14-18 ram 1500's (& 19 Classic) have a variable displacement compressor (typ. associated with the 7 speed fan)
>> 18/19's w/UAx = 68366552AA,AC etc HVAC module (ie UAQ Radio)
==> Since my truck is a 2019 classic that comes with 7 speed fan, do i still need this?

4-
* 2013-18/19c 8.4 radio bezel
(Single Zone 1uj96xxxx or Dual Zone 1uj97xxxx will work. Or custom Single Zone ATC? see post 8 of ATC Thread.)
==> What is the difference between the single/dual zone vs. the custom single zone?

My mistake on the part numbers... The above USA market PNs likely will not work for you in your country (Oman). I'm not sure of the correct PN ... Probably a Rest of World (ROW) version. Forum vendor AllMoparParts.com 'Benny' may be able to get you a correct PN. Or perhaps the guys at CustomTronix ... or ... Infotainment.

The difference besides North American maps, is the radio tuner (FM vs DAB I think) and issues with satellite radio tuner, & cellular modem.

The last 2 letters don't matter, just the first 8 numbers.

Correct, that should be compatible with Apple and Android.

Yes, you definitely need a HVAC conversion harness (you just don't need the 4 to 7 speed fan resistor harness)

THanks for the feedback.

I bought my truck from the dealership in my country, so it might have came specifically designed with a radio to fit my region.

But, I have a lot of friends who got pre-owned trucks shipped from the US (Ram 1500's, Sierra's, Tundra's, etc.) and their radio works (they can find FM and AM stations) expect for the NAV since the NAV maps are specific to North America.
So based on that, I though that means if order the 8.4 UAS radio, I shouldn't have any issue with the AM/FM radio stations.

I will try to contact my dealership tomorrow and ask them about the UAS/UAQ version in my region, and if it would fit my truck if I order it from the US.

Continuing this here to avoid cluttering Benny's vendor thread...

Not sure if dealers in your country will be any different, but most likely they will be of little help with this kind of non factory upgrade and just say it can't be done. If you know of someone's 18-19 classic truck in your country with factory equipped 8.4, use that vin to track down a replacement radio PN from a parts dealer. You will need that vin anyway to get sw updates for the radio later.

Yeah they are the same everywhere don't worry lol.

Unfortunately, the only guys I know with Ram 1500's had them imported from the US.
That is why I'm planning to call the dealership and ask them about the PN of the 8.4 UAS/UAQ radio they have in stock, and if PN matches with the one in the US it should work? or at least Benny might know if it will work if the PN is different.

FYI, I have already called them a few days back about the cost of an 8.4 UAS radio (w/o the bezel and harness) and the price they offered costs an arm and a leg.

Keep in mind, places like CustomTronix and Infotainment offer 'country specific' radio conversions that physically convert a 'usa' radio to work in another country by installing the relevant radio tuner & sw. I just find it hard to believe a USA radio would work in it's original state.

I called the dealership this moring, and he gave me the following PN's for the 8.4 UAS radio:
-68331635AH, AI, AG, AK
-68340153AH, AI, AG, AK

The funny thing is they told me that they don't know if these radios are region specific :)

Top one (x635) is USA UAS radio

Bottom (x153) Appears to be a Canadian UCS radio

Yea, not sure why they offered me those.
I might go visit a scrap yard and look for a Ram 1500 with a 8.4 UAS radio.

Btw, I had a talk with one of my friends who has a 2016 Ram 1500 Sport that he bought when he was going to school in the US and he shipped back home (in Oman), his truck is equipped with a 8.4 VP4 radio. He told me that the radio stations work (FM and AM), but the XM stations don't work (we don't have them here anyway) and the NAV maps don't work either (since they are US maps).

Well I just swapped out my Ra2 for a Ra4 using Mpgrimm2's harnesses and very instructive PDF. It's an easy installation and a word of advice don't forget to reinstall the upper and lower glove box screws.

Anyways my truck is a 2013 and I used a Ra4 with nav out of a 2016 that had software version 18.11.17. I did unfortunately have to get an unlock code for the radio other than that everything went great.

Small edit:
Forgot to mention that his harnesses are high quality and definitely worth the price and wait. If you need a harness he's definitely your guy.

I just up grade my 2017 ram, with the right help and parts it went very well. I want to thank you for all the help and quality parts that made this possible. I have no experience in electronics and I was able to do it that says a lot.

Jim,
Glad I could help you get everything else that you needed to finish the install.
Post up some pictures of your truck if you get the chance.
