IMHO--for the best and most accurate information, I would suggest you look at "autopia" web site. It is a worldwide professional detailer's site. They discuss products they have used and usually include pictures of the results. Some of the products they use are a little more expensive and some are not. Autopia also has a store you can buy products from that are not readily available in big box stores or parts stores. They usually have some sort of sale going on or have a deal on shipping costs.
New products come out everyday-and they are always the best, cheapest, easiest to use and produce ammmmmaaaazing results. Everyone thinks they use the best. Whatever you use, you only have one person to satisfy, and that is yourself. If you find something you like and it works for you, stick with it. You can spend a lot of money on detailing supplies looking for that "Magic Elixer" that will make your truck look the best and last for years and years. Good luck in your search

TBH anything Ive seen advertised on Facebook is hype and overpriced. F11, etc.

Optimum OptiCoat was "the first" way back when....I had my G37 done in 2012 and it lasted forever. Only needed to be redone after a dealer gave me a "free car wash" and swirled the ever living hell out of it. BUT the paint underneath was spared. Had the dealer pay for a detailer to fix and re-apply Opticoat Pro.

Had same detailer put OptiCoat Pro on my wifes car, and 5 years later it still beads like new. Some contamination spots (lower door panels, rockers, etc) wont show as much beading, but once I do a chemical decon on it, it goes back to day 1.

Used 22ple HPC on my RAM and a year later, water doesnt stick to it....I can spray with a garden hose on jet, shower, whatever and the water beads and falls off just about as quickly as it hits the panel.

Exactly... This guy above is right. Don't buy anything like that advertised on BF. I have Opticoat on 2 of my vehicles and CQuartz on 2 of them. Then I just use various SiO2 sprays for maintenance. If you want something quick to keep it slick and repelling water/dirt. Make sure to give your vehicle a good wash, decontamination and clay, then try Si02 sprays and just hit them again after every couple washes.

i'll add my 2 cents and its worth every penny! I use Adams, I drove to Carisle for the MOPAR show, had bugs all over the hood, sprayed some water on the hood/bugs they came right off. I dented my tailgate (stupid I know) fixed the dent, went to spray primer on the area, and the area I did not sand, the primer dripped off and would not adhere. Took me about 2.5 hours to use their prep, and then the ceramic coating. I applied a second coat the next day. this was about a year ago, still looks good, and I will be prepping it again and reapplying the ceramic again in the next couple of weeks.

I had tint world do ceramic coating on my Ram. It looks great. But the lawn sprinkler system hits lower panel sometimes when wind blows and spots the surface. And regular cleaning will not remove the spots.

Any suggestions to get those water spots off. And why isn't ceramic preventing the,?

I used Adams ceramic coating kit on my truck and wife’s grand Cherokee in the fall. Still beading real good for a do it yourself kit. My brother in-law has that nexgen stuff and seems to like it so far. Just got it a few weeks ago.

I use the Griots 3-in-1. I’m sure there is better stuff out there but it works for what I’m trying to accomplish. I live on dirt roads, so as soon as my truck is clean, it gets dirty so I don’t worry too much about it. #trump2020

I also use the Griots 3 in 1. In Florida the love bugs are terrible twice a year and this product makes it super easy to rinse off the front of the truck after driving through a swarm. I use it on the paint and chrome and then spray on a little Griots Bug and Smudge Remover the bugs wash right off with no scrubbing. I will renew the treatment before the September swarm.

I use Cosmic Angel. The best is never cheap. 6 months in with 100 Sc heat, sits in the sun 100% of the time and car washed once a week, the bead and shine hasn't faded at all. I put on 2 coats initially. Small bottle but a little goes a long ways. The claim a year between coats and so far I believe them.

I look at it like this for 35 bucks if it meets expectations you have years of protection from the gallon. If it doesn't you got a gallon for the price of 16oz of most others that I wouldn't want anyway. The Turtle wax polish hybred the new one seems to be pretty awesome as well. I plan to pick up the one for black cars and do a mild correction myself then coat that with the tech choice. For a spray on the fact you can actually see the tech choice break down harsh chemicals that get on it to protect is awesome then the fact that it's still there and not completely removed is also impressive

Is there anything like this for dark blue?

I have a patriot blue Cummins and a very similar, maybe slightly brighter ford which both have questionable paint- both could stand a correction but I'm not confident that there is enough clear on them in places to do it. Something like this seems like the solution.

Turtle wax Ceramic Polish and Wax. I am pretty sure the black acrylic version is specific for black vehicles only.

I am getting ready to try this stuff out. After the polish I may do a topper with the TW Ceramic Coating. Or should it say "Ceramic" Coating. Joking aside I hope to get 4-6 months out of it. We shall see.

The one for black works well with dark blue as weel. They also have just a ceramic polish without pigmentation.

I’ve used a host of different polishes, waxes, sealers and I’ve found the best to be from esoteric car care and their Kamikaze line of products but it’s pricey.
If you want an excellent fair priced products Wolfgang’s does it all and (Amazon) Turtle Wax Ice series.
Don’t forget a good de-ionizer, and a clay before using as it will seal the grime and Iron deposits within the ceramic coating if not clean. Use a plastic sandwhich baggie on your hand, it’s the easiness way to feel contaniments on your paint. If it’s rough and draggy, clay it. Make sure the Ceramic coating goes on even any ghosting like oil smears need to be corrected before drying. You can fix it by apply more product on your pad and going over it to knock it back down into the paint. And always, always use clean micro fiber towels. I never use the same one twice. Once used to go to shop rags not vehicle detail.

These are real durable, I am quite surprised. Some of the guys got me on griots 3 in 1, really bead a long time. I would just say traditional aio plus a topper seams to have a thicker coat, maybe not as durable dunno really. They are so easy to use and really bead a long time, I would just strapy the truck down after every wash, keep it shiney.

I have used the mothers CMX spray and liked the results. Good water repelling for 4-6 months.
I just hit it with the McGuire’s hybrid ceramic spray for the first time this afternoon and I liked it too smells good and a very fine mist which gets an even coating. It’s so fast and easy to do with the pressure washer already out from the foam cannon... Wax your car in 5 minutes!
I’m sure the adams is also good as well as the mckee’s 37.
Whatever brand you like, just do it already!
Just remember it’s just a protective coating, so if you have swirl marks you will need to correct first.

Used Mothers CMX, Griots 3-1, and now Adams. Like Adams and Griots the best.

While a spray or a wax will give it shine what makes it look good close up is the paint correction. Granted that for the most part the only person that really might look at your truck close up is you, there is nothing better than a silky smooth appearance and feel.

I really liked the ease of application of the Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic spray and the beading was fantastic but I decided to go for a IGL Kenzo on my truck and I cant stop starring at it ;)
