So Ive had a number of tailgate light bars and none of them seem to last. I want red and white only, super bright, and is durable to last. What would be some recommendations for the best one i can find?

What kind of issues did you have with the others? I have a cheap 60" Wiipro from Amazon that I paid $15 for (doesn't appear to be available anymore) that I have had for over 3 years. It's lived in the cold and snow of Colorado and the heat and rain of Georgia and still works great.

Also running the OPT7 triple. found it after I bought a cheapo that was halfway burned out in 6 months. Went over 2 years on my last truck no issues. So far nearing 1 year on new truck as well as I put one on my wife's truck the same time. Very well built and the reverse light is bright.

I used RECON in the past but they always had LED's stop working. I just did a Putco Switchblade (they make versions without amber) and so far it's been great. Have not heard much bad things about Putco light bars from people i know who have them. Best of all it installed with ZERO wire cutting or tap-ins. Just used the Curt 7 wire trailer plug adaptor that plugs in behind the bumper between the bumper plug and the factory harness. Makes install simple.

Anyone have a link for the CURT connector that would work with my 2017 ? I've found a few of these light bars on Amazon but I've seen reference to several different models of the CURT connector harness in the user reviews.

there is only 2. There is a 4 flat and a 5 flat. Depends on the light bar. Some have a 5 flat connector and some have a 4 flat with an extra wire that you have to tap into the reverse lights. 5 way flat part # 56584 and 4 flat 55384.

I have the Putco Blade for about 2 years with no issues what so ever. I believe they have a lifetime warranty as well, but don't quote me on that. I also used a Curt harness.

Could you possibly provide part numbers? I googled what you listed and it gives me several options as far as t-harnesses and switchblades. Appreciate the help.

Do all of these light bars block the hole used to lower the spare tire? Read something about that in one of the reviews

On my 2nd Opt-7 bar.
Had one on my 17 for 2.5 years, NEVER an issue. Left it on the truck when I traded it and ordered another with Curt adapter 3 days after new 19 classic came home.
I personally like the sequential turns, this time I got red turns not amber

yes. Many used magnets to secure to truck so they can remove if needed

I also went Opt7 Triple. Liked being able to pick color of turn signal to match my Rebels turn signals.

I also used Curt harness:

CURT 56584 Replacement... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007EA6WQU?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Allows me to remove bar and wiring and still retain normal stock wiring.

Can you explain a little more about why the CURT harness?

Like If I don't buy the harness?

I only have back up camera no assist no combinations.

I tried the magnets but the 3m on the bar didn’t stick to the magnet very long. Ended up just sticking it to the truck. You can bow the bar just enough to get access to the hole if it came down to it, I’ve done it on a previous truck lol

To me it made installation very easy. Remove tailgate. Hook up Curt adaptor to bumper/trailer pin outlet. Hook stock adapter into curt. Then hook up opt 7 to 3rd curt adaptor. Rather than taping into taillight for reverse I connected white reverse opt 7 wire to the reverse power spot on the curt adaptor.

For me i liked the idea if anything ever did go wrong with light bar or wiring I could remove bar and wiring and curt adaptor and still have my complete un-spliced stock set up in a matter of 2 min.
