no but I’m looking at them as well. I rotated my tires the other day and noticed both front springs are bent... I guess they are built this way in a curved manner. I had read in the Thuren website they get rid of the curve bent look.

I believe they stock shocks are too short to run with thurens spring setup.
Call thuren's, they will gladly help you out with your questions.

Yea the springs arnt necessarily cuved, its the spring cup that makes it happen. Its the way it was designed.

Im sure people have done it with no major issues, but thuren highly recommends not using stocks shocks with his springs.

I talked to thuren earlier, they suggest not running the stock bilsteins due to bounce issues, they suggested fox or king which they carry, y are to expensive for me. so they carry overland shocks which are supposed to work well with the springs.

I was just interested in whether anyone has actually run stock bilsteins with their 1.5 springs and the results they had.

the springs are straight when not in the truck. the slanted buckets make them bowed

Check with Thuren to see if they can Spec a Bilstein shock.

You can run the stock stock shocks. They wont break your truck. But they will not perform that well in comparison to others, and they are too short so they will not allow you to reap all the benefits of the new thuren springs.

If you cant spring for the fox or kings I completely understand. Just run the stock shocks until you are wanting more, than save up for the white body overlands as they are affordable and will work with his springs.

I run the overlands up front. I think they’re great. Not bling like the fox or bypass, but they ride great.

Also to note, the 1.5 Thuren kit raised my front end a little over two inches. The Thuren springs may have settled with time but I never re-measured. Oh and my alignment has been great, didn’t even need to adjust my steering wheel. Probably the best affordable mod you can do.

Is it the bilsteins that cause the bounce on these trucks, highway ride is nice things get bouncy.

I had 5100s on my 1500 4x4 and it was bouncy offroad.

I imagine the,”bounce,” referred to would be the limited down and up travel caused by the stock Bilsteins being too short.

Even with the factory suspension?

If i were to change just the shocks would it be beneficial?

No, if you were to use the OEM Bilsteins with the taller coils. What tire pressure are you running? I never experienced bouncing with the OEM suspension, but I didn’t run the tires at 65psi. Try drastically lowering your air pressure. I don’t recall what I had settled at with the duratrash tires. But, with my 37’s I’m running 38 front and 35 rear cold tire pressure. Floats over the bumps

tire pressure is 55, anything below 51 tpms goes off, i need to lower threshold with alpha obd, just havent yet.
Im not sure how to explain bouncy, going from a 1500 to 2500 is difference im still getting used to.
I plan on moving up to 34/35" coopers when the duras wear out. i just cant afford tires right now.
