How many miles since your gear change. My installer said I didn’t need to change the oil for 15k-30k depending on how I use It but I changed it at 1 k with Valvolen synthetic.

540 miles. In goes in the 25th for inspection and refill to qualify for the warranty.

If it’s stock it shouldn’t. I only have 13.5k on my 2018 and it’s super quiet...... I wouldn’t believe it had a limited slip of my build sheet didn’t say so.

mine was super smooth stock.

something is making noise and jerking around in the differential during slow tight turns. Under 5 mph

Tell your installer and let them deal with it. It shouldn’t be doing that so....

It is in now. Have you contacted them about the chatter? I know on the ford I had in the past with lsd, it required an additive when I changed the gears.
It goes in next week for inspection and refill. He said he would look at it then.

It sounds like these trucks don’t take the additive but it seems to fix the problem.

How many of you stay under 60 miles per hour for the first 1000 miles and do not tow?
Kind of hard to stay under 60 for 1,000 miles. I have stayed very close to 60 for the first 50.

I can definitely hear the gears.

I know this conversation is old, but I just wanted to give an update regarding my gears install by Inland Jeep. Initially there were some scheduling issues and there was a defect with the first set of gears installed. They did everything in their power to take care of me and make it right. I just wanted anyone reading this thread to know they are the type of business who if anything goes wrong, they will go out of their way to make it right.

No doubt lol. They backed my truck into a parking pylon. Guess they are used to driving tiny jeeps not 20’ long trucks.
They made me aware and paid to have it fixed to my satisfaction.

Just had my first trip towing with the gears. Got 7mpg towing around 12k over Baker grade to Zion via the 15 from SoCal.
Held 50mph with throttle to spare and easily cruised 60-70mph on flat ground.

gears do make noise over 60mph though.

They last part about the gears making noise is the reason I went with factory AAM gears. My gears have been super quiet at all speeds.

My gears are pretty quiet, but I only went to 4.10. The 4.10 is perfect for my usage. I will say I think for the tow weights they had listed for these trucks (12,600 and 15,600) the gearing should be 4.10 and 4.56 respectively. That would make the final ratio competitive withe Ford's 3.73 and 4.30 due to their lower trans ratios.

Wait I thought you went 4:56?

maybe that’s why they couldn’t find my Gears they replaced? Probably in your truck lol

Haha...Could be since they had a problem with the first set if Yukons. My gcwr will never be over 19,000 so the 4.10s were perfect for me.

Lol did you get any documentation showing lifetime warranty? I asked and they said the gears are in Yukon’s records as being under lifetime warranty.

Yes, they gave me a warranty card, as well as my invoice shows it like yours for the YES warranty.

If you have the info I think you can also register yours on the Yukon website. I saw that when I was researching the warranty.
