Yes, another HEMI tick question....

So I had a guy ask a question on my YouTube channel and it got me thinking.
Supposedly the Hemi tick was addressed by Chrysler in 2016 or 17.
Looking this up I've found a lot of wishy-washy information about it.
Things like they've addressed a problem that wasn't really a problem so on and so forth.

So to the question: was this actually addressed in 2016?

Second question: has anybody got the tick with a late 4th gen or 5th gen?

and I'm not asking if you just have an overall noisy truck. I literally mean, have you had to replace your cam lifters and so on.

I had a 2012 Laramie with the Hemi tick that required cam and lifter replacement. I’ve got a 2018 and so far so good but I’ve only got 33k miles on this truck and I suspect this issue doesn’t manifest itself until you get a certain amount of years/miles/hours on the engine. I’ve also heard it’s largely related to a lot of idle time and/or low RPM drive time.

Curious as to what if anything FCA actually did to “resolve” the reported issue?

That's what I was thinking. It might be too soon even to tell yet. Unless this thread just gets a flood of people saying yep my 2018 has the tick or my 2019 had to have warranty work done on it.....
I guess time will tell brother.

Supposedly FCA is on its 4th different version of roller lifter according to a thread(https://www.ramforum.com/threads/does-the-5th-gen-5-7l-have-the-dreaded-mds-lifter-issue.166285/) see post #10 that was on here within the last couple of weeks. I had the cam/lifters go out on my 2015 with 32K miles roughly 3 years ago, replaced under warranty, switched to Redline 5W30 now around 80K miles, no issues since. I haven't heard of any VERIFIED cases of anything newer just conjecture. If FCA did improve the lifters and eliminate the problem the tick might still be there as was the case with the 3rd gen Hemi which also had ticking problems but not to the point of being anything other than a nuisance.

Uhh... Idgaf about either of those guys but it's a pretty enormous stretch to blame engine problems on whatever idiot is in the white house.
