Agreed on all points above. The biggest issue is the price of used parts has gone up drastically. If I want to try to test some things with a 2020 gen4 cluster or a gen 5 cluster, I have to race Infotainment to try to snap it up before they do. The genies are hilariously priced, they want something like $200 to enable the cargo cam which is a total of 1 setting in the BCM. The clusters aren't better, a gen 5 cluster upgrade from them is $1700 for the gen 5 HDs. A brand new, top priced cluster is $900 from the dealer or can be found brand new online at your favorite Mopar parts supplier for $600 and that's for new parts instead of the used parts you are getting from infotainment. So that $1k mark up is for them to match the mileage which I am assuming they are using AlfaOBD to do.

I am seeing the same thing with the 12inch UAX screens and radios. Just a few months ago, you were able to find them on LKQ and car-part without issue. I haven't seen them in months on either site.

I spend a decent amount on buying other parts to test and figure if it can be made to work in our trucks. I hate having to be more careful on the information I post because I expect to see it replicated by infotainment in short order. There are couple of us in the background that are trying to get the 360 surround view working on the gen4s and we all have spent a bunch of money trying different parts to get the trucks to play along. Once we get it figured out, no doubt about us posting that information here for anyone else that wants to attempt it.

At the risk of stating the obvious, it seems that folks on this forum should stop supporting Infotainment customers. If someone comes here looking for help with a system they bought from Infotainment, send them back to Infotainment or tell the to read the threads and maybe find the answers themselves. Perhaps suggest they return the non-functional system to infotainment for a refund. I know this sounds harsh and some may feel bad leaving a fellow RAM owner in the cold. However, it seems like the good nature of some folks in this forum is being taken advantage of by a commercial interest.

Infotainment sucked under their former name too "OEMAutoPartsCo"... probably changed it to dodge Yelp or the BBB.

I have tried to help them in the past because in many cases they don't even know the forum exists until they have problems and then look for answers and end up here. They do a Google search for radio upgrades and Infotainment pops up with their fancy website and promises of custom programming so they think that's the way to go. It's definitely a dilemma because the forum is here to help people and it's an awesome community that I have actually made friends with but at the same time it's not fair to Mike (M2mods) who also sells the same parts.( That were developed here and work properly!) When we help these people fix the mess and Infotainment makes the money. It's tough for sure. I don't respond to them nearly as much as I used to in the past. I definitely wouldn't be as inclined to help people who had a problem with Infotainment that had been members before they bought parts from them and knew they had other options.

Hello I’m in the planning phase of upgrading to a 4C UCQ.
I have a Canadian 2017 1500 Ram Sport with factory 8.4 RA4, backup camera, auto hvac, dual hvac, 7 speed fan, heated seats and heated steering wheel. I understand I need:
Radio UCQ 68331632AH
USB HUB 68328704AC
USB harness from mpgrimm2

I’m hoping to source radio and hub from a salvage yard.

Will all the current hard, soft buttons and mic work with new UCQ or I need more modules/harness?

Thank you this forum/members are awesome

You did some reading & have it correct for your truck setup (thanks for the detailed info which covers everything I would have asked) ...
Swap the radio (need unlock code), Swap the hub and plug in the adapter harness and your all set. Nothing to program.

I’m assuming getting a 12” UAX in a 2013-2017 is still a no go?

I understand the wow factor that that 12" screen has, but if I was ever to upgrade to a 5th gen truck I would prefer the 8.4" screen. It retains the knobs and physical buttons for things like heated seats/steering wheel, temperature, fan, etc.

I've searched here but can't find the answer. Anyone ever dealt with a Locked Radio? UAS from a 2018 1500 only gives me a blank lit screen and the Locked Radio words above the speedometer. I tried starting the truck several times and letting it set overnight with the same result this morning. I tried resetting by pushing the volume & tune buttons and also tried getting into dealer mode but nothing. I have another UAS that works fine so it's definitely the radio.

If you have AlfaOBD you may be able to access it and see if there is a setting to flip. You can connect to the radio directly.

It's possible the radio was reported as stolen and FCA has a means of locking it remotely but that's just speculation on my part.

Figured I would pop in and give an update on the Brotect Screen Protector.
I have never used a more forgiving screen protector, ever.

I didn't want to take the dash apart again, so the initial install did not go well. The screen protector is just too big. After fumbling around with it with no success, I took scissors and cut 2-3mm off each side to attempt another install.

That did the trick, and even after multiple installs and peel offs, I was able to get it on with one just one small air bubble.
The screen protector does a nice job of covering up all the surface scuffs (the little micro scratches in the soft plastic).
Sure beats the hell out of installing a new screen.

Now try to get fingerprints to stay on it. They just kinda disappear on their own.

Hello All-

Ive been lurking out here a while and have learned A TON....and for that I say THANK YOU!!

I purchased a UAQ Radio off Ebay- Part # 68289296AA Appears to be a Compass/Cherokee unit.

Software Version 19.42.16
Application version USA-ASO-8.4-JR-30.24.0-20191016-JOHQ

I purchased all the pieces needed- Cables ...media unit...adapters etc.

Subd XM with No issues.

Install went PERFECTLY......Until............ I had a battery failure in my 2016 Ram 3500.

Now.....that being said.

Suddenly I have lost ALL XM icons.

I can use AlphaOBD to see Radio info....shows MY truck VIN.

Diagnostic mode will bring up XM perfectly.
BUT......No way to get it on screen.
Info screen shows I AM subd.

All else works Perfectly.....BUT it does show Jeep stuff in the Apps.......

Dealer could NOT get it to work ....
Ebay guy will NOT refund me.

ANY help out here????
