"Tell me why I shouldn't upgrade to a PW" just a few reasons:
1. You will stand out in a crowd.
2. You will start talking to strangers asking about your PW.
3. You will curse the Democrats if fuel prices increase.
4. You will enroll in fuel reward programs at your local gas stations.
5. You will make your passenger walk from the farside of shopping center parking lots.
6. You will start looking at Pintrest for accessorizing ideas.
7. You will become a 4wd snob and use terms like "fully articulating suspension"
8. You will spend many hours alone watching PW **** on YouTube.
9. You will no longer care about any truck's towing capacity and you will quickly change the subject if ever questioned.
10. You may be asked "what you are compensating for with such a big PW?" So be prepared to respond or you can use #7 above.

As you can see, this PW forum is a caring community that has overwhelmed you information, my forum feed has been blowing up for days and even as type this now. I hope that you are able to successfully end your quest of why you shouldn't upgrade to a PW.

P.S.- I posted this in good humor and fun, I stand by the 10 comments above though...lol

A few more to the list:

11. You will lie to you wife about the need for bigger tires to make it to the perfect camping/beach spot.

12. You get a 2nd mortgage to build it out.

Yea pretty much. I would probably change out the factory d-rated tires though.
This is basically what I thought. The PW is the same as any another 2500 minus the suspension, lockers and sway bar disconnect. And tires. They are the same truck otherwise.

I agree. On white they look good. Red too.

Mine is silver with the grey stripes. I like the decal. But I intend to pin stripe with grey also.

And minus the standard 17" wheels, winch, skid plates, 4.10 to 1 gear ratio, and lift.

not sure if anyone commented on my question. I was asking the question that if you tossed regular 2500 spring on a power wagon, shocks, would the power wagon have the hauling capabilities as a regular 2500? I'm sure they are a big heavier due to the extra goodies like winch stuff, lockers and disconnecting sway bar but it shouldn't be much different.
Like was already posted, yes it would 'feel' and tow the same as a regular 2500 but would not change your legal ratings. Those are set from the factory and cannot be changed

No one quite ever said that. haha. We skirted around it but yes I think it's important to address that the power wagon is no less capable as far as it's ability, power and towing capability, and arguably better if you equip it with bags etc. If I was constantly towing on the road I wouldn't own one but the time or two I need to I'm not worried. Powerwagons have a cool factor of ten! The 2021 75th anniversary one is the power wagon we've all wanted to build for years. bucket seats and no floor shifter. Too bad it doesn't have the option of black seats. I kind of dig the brown but some won't. what a spendy package though.

Yeah be willing to drive a ways or fly to find a good used one. Personally I'd stay away from one that has a ton of mods etc. They might have beat the hell out of it but then again that's kinda what they are for. 2500's are pretty tough in general.

I disagree about mods. If tastefully done, one can save money. I traded my Raptor in with the same build my current PW has and the only thing I removed was the winch.
My loss was someone’s gain. now always crawl underneath to see if it has been off road. The pigment arms, diff, and skids will tell the truth.

True on the saving money for sure. I guess it would depend on the mods and good point about crawling underneath. That's a must.

Sorry, didn't mean to sound like I was agitated about it, just saying that it was mentioned above and I was confirming it...lol. Post #159 by @retired mentioned it.

oh no that's fine. Must have missed that. Just didn't wanna confuse anyone reading the thread. Trucks are the same except for the suspension differences and weight hence the payload differences. They'll tow the same if you give the springs some help with bags. That's what I wanted this thread owner to know. If he had to tow some serious weight with it , it would do it. You just have to account for the laws and regulations. No one would ever pull me over here if I was overweight unless it really looked like it. Most law enforcement officers (I'm one) wouldn't have a clue that my 2500 was less than any other.

Yep. I used to be LEO and at the time I wouldn't have known. My brother-in-law has been an LEO since about 1981 and I don't think he could put air in a tire...lol. My step-son is a detective and was on patrol about 7 or 8 years prior to that and when he bought his 2019 1500 he had no idea he was right at his max with his TT because the RAM salesman told him it didn't matter with the 8 speed....lol

I am retired after 30 years and most locals PD's would not know but l if there were a fatality or serious accident the Accident Investigators would be doing the crash and they would know. I am willing to bet most State Patrols would know. Those guys know if your mudflaps are an inch too small.

Yep. Locals would be clueless but if there was an accident and the insurance investigators were involved you can bet it would all come out
