Yes. Actually, someone just posted about it a few days ago- https://www.ramforum.com/threads/alfaobd.123982/page-314#post-2390273
Post quote as a reference...

It’s been confirmed
You can add remote start to any year 13 and up Be simply grounding pin 11 in the Bcm
Replacing the key over lay
And activate it with alpha
If you want to make it safer and you can add the hood switch

If you want to make it safer you can add the hood Safety
There is no need to purchase the OEM kit Will work on any radio frequency hub we have done it on a 13 express with a total cost of less then 20
If you need the wire you can hit me up

If you notice it doesn’t work immediately you need to go drive the vehicle there’s some kind of timer in it where you need to drive it over 50 miles an hour for a minimum of 2 miles before it will actually remote start

If you’re not running the hood switch
And you don’t have a resistor
You need to make sure you set the resistance to 500 in parallel
This is for a pin style hood latch which has an internal resistance of basically nothing

Did you follow these steps

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1xQvdHVTgRwKQRKSBh1K2rkCqg5dlpSi0

It's possible that your truck has a 2016 rf hub. Where in alfaobd is it showing that there is a antenna error

What’s the purpose of resetting the RF portion of the alpha procedure?

When you change a BCM setting for remote start being present, or tire pressure, the rf hub doesn’t pick up on those changes until it is forced to get the new configuration/changes. This only happens when it is reset.

For whoever just asked for confirmation if it works on 13+ rams just as advised it worked for me yesterday. Grounded pin 11, changed the setting in Alfa to 500-500, got the overlay for my key and it was a go for me... 2016 1500 5.7 Tradesman

How did you get the shell off the connector to get access to the wires/pins? Took my old bones forever to get that damned connector unplugged only to find wires covered lol

[deleted]

Finally got it working !! Must have been missing a step in the programming?

Completed the installation of remote start on my 2017 Ram 2500 Tradesman this weekend. Followed the instructions from the OP, and used the AlphaOBD to do all the other stuff. I did this on Sunday and rather than try and get the info from the dealership, I used the PIN Puller app and spent $15 to get the vehicle's PIN. Quick and painless.

I have $31.86 in the wiring harness, $52.39 in the hood latch, $9.98 for the key fob overlay (from Amazon), so total of about $94 for the remote start alone. I was able to run the wire into the connector under the power distribution box under the hood rather than all the way under the dash. I did end up extending the wire harness about 6" so that I could route the wiring more cleanly. Probably took me a few hours, but I work slow and drink beer.

I also had bought the OBDLink MX+ and then $50 for the AlphaOBD app. I plan to do other changes to the truck (add cargo lights, power folding mirrors, radio upgrade, steering wheel controls, etc), so wanted that stuff anyway. Plus it's just handy to have that MX+ for diagnostic reasons for other vehicles.

Great mod! Had to go back and code it again, but it did end up working fine. Thanks for the pages and pages of helpful info here.

Just completed this on my '15 HD Tradesman. Only needed the harness to the connector under the PDC. Thankfully the rest of the wiring went back to the BCM. Changed out the FOB pads and installed the latch from Benny @AllMoparParts.com. Added features with AlfaOBD and reset the RFH. Glad the PIN I got from my dealer last year worked. No need for a new RFH at all. Thanks all for trying this in the first place.

You dont need to program the steering wheel controls. Mine worked immediately, even the hands free buttons. .
And I drink beer too. Lol

Finished this on my ‘19 classic tradesman today. Just needed the hood latch and key fob overlays. Paid to get pin off Pin Puller app and already had AlfaOBD/Bluetooth OBD. My ‘19 already had wiring and plug. Easy peasy. Thanks to all that figured this out.

Wait so you just had to get the hood latch for the wiring side of it?? I have the plug by my hood latch too but unsure if I need to run wires thru my firewall and connect to my bcm as well. Its a 2017 RCSB so I know its wired for a bit more than its optioned for

Correct. Connector plug and wiring already there from factory. Only things I purchased for this project were the hood latch, key fob overlays, and the 4 digit pin (no desire to interact with dealership).

2019 Classic Tradesman w/ Express 5.7 RCSB. After the changes w/ Alfaobd, I had to drive around few miles, but when I got back to house, remote start worked.

May be a dumb question, but here goes....

Is there a way to disable the horn when remote start?

I don’t have the option on the 8.4 touchscreen to turn off for remote start, just turn off when locking. I’ve driven and reset screen enough that I’d think it would show if an option. ‘19 classic that didn’t have 8.4 or remote start from factory if it matters.

You need to set Cust.Prog.Feature Horn with remote start.
It should show quickly in the same screen as horn with door lock.

Was your truck pre wired for the hood latch?

The you follow the instructions for the remote start?

You may have to try a different ohm setting for the hood latch

Yes truck was "pre-wired".
Followed instructions.
Checked the wire was in pin 11
Tried both 1k & 500ohm.
Truck honks once and cancels.
