That’s great news! Thanks for the info.

I’d love to be able to confirm that it actually does work with my truck but the radio I got isn’t wanting to fully come on when I installed it.

All I get is the backlight coming on when I turn the ignition on. I’ve checked the fuse on the passenger side (Ram 2500 location) and currently letting it sit disconnected from the batteries for a little bit. Connections are all good as well.

That's unfortunate. Any luck with getting the radio going?

@DeereGuy: If @Cmacks88 or others are able to confirm the 68217268xx HSMs work with the UAQ, can you update the first post with the information?

Unfortunately no, I wasn’t able to get it going. I tried all I could think of and even took it apart to make sure all the internal connections were ok and they were so I actually shipped back out today to return it.

Sometimes the ones that you think are a good deal turn out to be a bust but I have a lead on another so I may be able to confirm before I have to go back to work in a week and a half.

Can you check the part number of your HSM? It is under the drivers seat at the front left corner. If you slide the seat all the way forward, you will be able to read the label. If you have a 68217268xx it should work without the conversion harness.

I checked the HSM out of a 2014 Grand Cherokee Summit in my truck but since it was produced in the second half of the MY14 run, it got things like auto collision braking and cross path detection for the blind spot sensors. As part of that it seems like it got it the newer HSM as well. The HSM part number is 68217268AA and it is confirmed to work with the UAQ. The 2014GCs fall into the same bucket as the RAMs as far as having HSM buttons not populating on UAQ retrofits.

The HSM in my 2015 Laramie is 68217268AB. So it is a newer revision of the same module as the 2014 GC Summit HSM I tested in my truck.

I think the HSM upgrade would work instead of buying the conversion harness and even when buying a new HSM it is still $100 cheaper.

EDIT1: I think I have one more HSM in the house that I can try to see if it works. I can also mail it to someone if they want to test it in their 2013/2014 retrofitted truck to see if it responds properly.

EDIT2: NVM it's a 2017GC HSM that has different vented seat wiring. I will toss into the truck to see if it works with the UAQ(it should). If it checks out for the heated seats and wheel, I can mail it to someone if they want to test it in their '13/'14 UAQ swapped truck. Good chance that it won't work as it looks for an Auto Start / Stop signal and without it, it does not turn the on the heating elements or vents. I will test it though.

EDIT3: The wiring for the 2015 HSM that works with the UAQ radio matches up on the wiring and connections for 2013 and 2014 trucks so it would be a direct swap with no extra modules.

EDIT4: Looking at the part numbers, 68217268AF supersedes the 680x HSMs found in 2013 and 2014 RAMs and the 2014/15 GCs. So now I am about 99% sure a HSM swap would work instead of buying conversion module from Infotainment. It pretty well covers all the gen 4 1500/2500/3500 and the 19/20 classic.

That's unfortunate. Any luck with getting the radio going?

He's not as active here as he used to be, but once it's verified, I can contact him directly to get it done.

** @Buckeye2019 is getting ready to install a set of 2014 Laramie seats in his 2018 2500 with upgraded UAQ and may be a candidate for the newer HSM if he has the on screen seat menu control issue. **

Anyone ever swap in a UAQ and the screen is black but shows the ram logo when switching off? Unplugging it and pluging back in shows the sirius xm screen, then goes black. Evic shows locked. Tried a soft reset with vr and phone, no-go. Waiting on harness for mute/browse reset or temp button trick.

If you have AlphaOBD, you may be able to connect directly to it and see if there is a setting to flip. I've heard this recently here before, I wonder if it's the same radio?

I also wonder if this is the behavior when a radio is actually reported stolen?

It should be working on either version but an upgrade may revert it to prompting for an anti-theft code. It may be worth asking a dealer if they can see if it's reported stolen.

Does the screen go to the rearview camera when you put it in reverse?

I do not have a backup camera. I did stumble on something odd.. the screen stays black, if I mess with the tempreature controls, the temp and position pop up.

Does not look like any logos or icons I’m familiar with in a Ram. Have you tried loading Ram software? What is the radio part number?

Bloup i have not loaded the ram firmware. Waiting on the harnesses. The part number is 68366554AB. It is from a wrecked jeep. I seen a guy on here with 68366554AA and his swap went ok.

Does anyone have any information on a part number 68461703AB? The scrap yard has it out of a 2019 big horn classic

Here is a close up of the part number tag, I'm not sure what part number is under the cover up tag though

The vehicle VIN is 1C6RR7TT0KS730176

The build sheet for the VIN checks out as a 2019 Classic (4th gen) Bighorn with an 8.4 4c UAS radio & a lot of options. (Enterprise rent a car) . Enter VIN here.

I can't confirm that PN, but if you trust that the salvage yard gave you the correct VIN for the radio (ie actually came out of that 4th gen truck?), I would expect it to work.

If they accept returns and you take a chance on it, please report back.

Edit: quick Google search of that PN shows it as listed pn for a 2020 Ram 1500 classic
UAS 4c Radio: 68461703AB.

It seems pretty legitimate, here's pictures of it in the truck before they pulled it. The price was only 250 so I figured I'd take the chance. I will definitely report back. If it works then I will be PMing you about an HVAC harness (with the dual zone ATC as well because I plan on doing that upgrade in the spring)

If it was me, I would get it.

I called them up and ordered it, should be here by this weekend hopefully. Makes sense as I'm sure the late 2019s and 2020s used the same part so good to know it checks out. The google search I did kept showing it as just a "multi media radio" but I couldn't verify the year, so thank you for that! Worst case scenario I return it, best case scenario I got a killer deal so I'm happy either way.

Great price! You beat the "scalpers"...at those prices I'd see what else they'd give you from the vehicle you might need (USB hub, premium cluster?).
