Did anyone ever figure out where the hood latch factory wires terminated in the harness if they were not lucky enough to be wired through the firewall? 2019 Classic SCSB

(2020 Ram 1500 Classic Tradesman, Quad Cab 3.6L gas, tip start).
I did not have the harness to the hood latch area.
1. Ordered correct hood latch w/switch: 68159725AB Hood Latch $34.58
2. Ordered wiring kit w/mating connector and wires - this allows you to make up wiring from the hood latch to the plug beneath the PCM but I just used the mating connector and wires and made up my own harness to the underhood ground lug and direct to the BCM C1 connector: 68065018AA Wiring-2 Way $27.85
3. Nothing installed in BCM C1 pin 11 (Hood Sensor for my particular truck); ordered the correct BCM socket(s):

32124734123000-L
KOSTAL Automotive Connectors
I ordered a few (at $.60 each) and practiced a bit to make sure I had the right crimp tool & technique.
4. Key fobs examined; mine had 3-button overlays (Panic-Unlock-Lock) but have ALL the contact points on the circuit board. Ordered new overlays from Amazon for 4 function to include Remote Start - KAWIHEN Keyless Entry Remote Key Fob Skin Replacement for Chrysler Town AND Country Dodge Durango Grand Caravan Journey Ram 1500 2500 3500 Jeep Grand Cherokee GQ4-53T M3N5WY783X IYZ-C01C
by KAWIHEN
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0859BM3Y8/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_QWoEFbC2PHM9N 2 for $10.
5. Programmed the BCM to let it know the switch was there and tested switch state with AlfaOBD.
6. Enabled the rest of the parameters using AlfaOBD and then reset the RF Hub using my PIN.
Works great!! Total spent in materials for this project about $80; already had the miscellaneous wire, wire loom, ring lug for ground, heatshrink, etc.
Big thanks to Jimmy07 for calling out the correct BCM terminal and 1500ram12 for the Alfa walkthru.
NOTE: If you think you have everything right and attempt to Remote Start...and then your truck locks itself and honks but does not start:
1. Recheck your wiring.
2. Verify your programming. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1xQvdHVTgRwKQRKSBh1K2rkCqg5dlpSi0
3. Look (using AlfaOBD) and check the logs and examine Last remote start event; if it says something about Remote Start Inhibited you may have tried to start it before everything was wired and programmed correctly.
Look for a section like this:
Remote Start Enable Data:
Ignition Status: RUN Position
Remote Start Mode: Off Inhibit
Off Inhibit: Yes
RKE Messages Received: No
Any Door Ajar: No
Key in Ignition: Yes
Brake Pressed: No
Hazard Lamps On: No
Remote Start Enabled: No
Remote Start Programmed: Yes
Auto Transmission: No
Hood Switch Programmed: Yes
Start Counter: 0
Failed Counter: 0
Remote Start Inhibit Cause 1:
Inhibit Reason: Not enabled
If everything looks right and the hood switch is working and readable then go back into programming with Alfa and look at Active Diagnostics (this is where you usually select Car Configuration Change).
Don’t select that...look for Remote Start Temporary Disable ...you have two choices...Enabled or Disabled.
Oddly enough the parameter name and the choices are inconsistent...Remote Start Temporary Disable, set to Enable, allows it to start.
Go figure...

If you don't care about the hood...I may have missed this somewhere...but what connectors are used for the pcm plug on the motor side? I had the harness from the latch, and installed the new latch. Pin 11 is empty and I have the BCM connector(s) ready to order just haven’t seen a link or part number for the pcm side. I have a ground lug just need to fill 5 & 6.
thanks for any help.
hey, so I have tried to wire this a few times but never the way you are saying to do it. I feel this is the way I will have to do it to have it work. could you maybe explain it in more detail and or some pics or video on how you have done it? I am lost in where to connect the wire and then ground it cause I don't care about the hood. I just want autostart lol please help!!!If you don't care about the hood...
All you need to do is add a pin into number 11 and ground it to a bolt, I use the bolt that is beside the parking brake pedal you need about 16 in of wire.
Then, change your fob cases so they have the remote start button.
Use Alfa to set codes, reset RF hub.. drive the truck above 10kph, and done.
I can add remote start to any 13 plus 4th gen in about 10 minutes flat start to finish.
And I have done over 35 trucks now every engine except for 6.4.. they all work the same.
And you can do it all for a boat 20 bucks in parts

It's incredibly easy. As long as you have a 13+ 4th gen.hey, so I have tried to wire this a few times but never the way you are saying to do it. I was unable to get a good picture from those links.I somewhat care about the hood since I bought the latch. I was thinking of bypassing the plug under the fuse box all together and basically making a mock harness they sell with the kit by just tying into the factory hood wiring/plug. 40 bucks seems a bit steep for the kit just to try and wire it as if it came from the factory but I like the idea of it. I found some terminals but not sure if they’d work or not.

This is what the pin looks like. I don't know if it comes in different sizes, but that's what it looks like. (Pic)I somewhat care about the hood since I bought the latch. Honestly I don't know about all that stuff lol..the cutsheet from the 2nd link is attached. Is your pin from the hood plug or from under the fuse box? From the terminal repair kit it matches the wording, but no clue if it’s an actual fit. That’s my reasoning for thinking of doing what y’all did with the 2019 you mention.

I'm not the best with this..O

How do I set the code and reset the rf hub on the alfaobd
When you look up the instructions, if you did not go to the hood latch.. ignore the part where it talks about changing the resistance on pin 11.I'm not the best with this..
Look up the main AlfaObd forum for 13+ and look at the instructions.
Under the body computer
You need to set remote start to present.
Hood something something Pin 11 to present.
Then RF hub
Reset/relearn RF hub.
For this you need your 4 digit pin code.
You can ask the dealer.
or you can download Chrysler pin puller and pay to get it

hey, thanks for all the help I got it finally. I started this project like a year ago frustrated and disappointed I stopped, then I read up on it and your way was so simple. thanksWhen you look up the instructions, if you did not go to the hood latch.. ignore the part where it talks about changing the resistance on pin 11.
The simple changes I just told you will work.
And then you got to drive the truck around the block it'll work.

I just activated my remote start a couple of months ago and did not set anything special for wait to start. It just does it as it has been pretty cold here every time i have remote started. Is it possible it is warm enough to not require WTS where you are located?Could have sworn I seen it somewhere, but anyone know where the setting to delay the start is? Everything g works great thanks to this awesome write up. Only issue is with the 6.7 diesel it waits like 2 seconds and starts. I found the wait to start on alfaobd and it's on, but doesn't effect the wait time...
