Online...places like Chrysler Factory Plans. They have 2-5 years extra coverage (extra = starts from today)

Genuine Mopar extended warranties, $100 or $200 deductible.

96 months - does that add 8 years from now or is it 8 years total from in-service date?

Go through these guys for your best deal. Selling warranties is a high margin item for F&I folks. Zeigler sells for a low flat markup.

For 7 years / 100k you should be under $2k with a 200 deductible.

Use the discount code of 'PAYINFULL'.

I would not recommend buying a non-MOPAR branded warranty. MOPAR will be around and will use factory parts. And BTW, these are technically 'service plans' and not 'warranties'...

It would be 8 years from service date, not from current. And the factory warranty will still apply until it runs out after 36/60 (depending upon the item). Because of that, you can buy at any point up until the factory warranty runs out.

Beware of the 3rd party non-oem warranties!

I went to use one a few years ago on my previous Toyota 4x4 and was informed that the warranty was not worth the paper it was printed on, then company had gone out of business taking everyone`s money with them!

Also, most 3rd party warranties use re-manuf or non-oem parts!

Maybe? Could be interpreted differently....

To me the interpretation is "am I getting 5 years extra coverage or just until 8 years is up"

Since OP is presumably out of 3 years already, adding 5 years right now is technically more than 8 years. On the page I was on, choosing 5 years, I didnt see the text about when it actually starts, so "from today" is either really from today, or a bit misleading.

I solved the interpretation issue by purchasing MaxCare Lifetime when my truck was 1 year old :)

I guess we should clarify whether the vehicle is under the factory warranty. For this case, it's from the original in-service date. So 8 years would be 8 years from new.

If the factory warranty has expired then the date would be based upon the date of contract purchase.

Yep I think thats the detail. I know Meister is out of warranty (by 2 months...) so I went with "in factory warranty" set to No.

The prices go up for being out of factory warranty, but they are still potentially better than what a dealer would give. But he mentioned he was getting a 96 month offer, so its important to know if its a Mopar warranty 96 months from in service date or if it indicates some random 3rd party "8 year" warranty

Depends on the plan.My plan and the one before had no deductible.
