As I do repairs on my Ram, I clean and paint everything. I want to know all views , positive and negative! Everything was either black or rust, some alum when I started, The timing chain cover blew a gasket spraying water out !

I painted all the bolts black, I wanted a "bolted on" look. Brackets were the light Green. Rotating pulleys blue, some left black, tubing painted copper, front of engine black Gold, alternator gold , timing chain cover silver, intake front silver, Fan clutch red , and torsion spring bar red. Water pump and thermostat pipe ( not visible ) yellow !

Anyway what you think?

Um... Ok, you asked for it... The mix of bright colors reminds me of something built out of Legos. :)

I was thinking the exact same thing. Definitely reminds me of Legos.

not for me, but it is not my truck so if you like it then that is all that matters.

First thing I thought of were legos as well. It's different thats for sure. Not something I would do myself but the fact that it is so different makes it pretty cool in my book.

Its different. Not my style, but its your truck! You do what you want. I am sure you could find something with everyone else's truck that you don't personally like.

I was just playing around with different colors to see what I might want to use in the future.

I was also going to say Legos, but not in a bad way. The fact that you're doing these repairs to your soon-to-be 20 year old truck is cool, and the fact that you're taking the time to clean and paint it all shows the attention to detail. I wouldn't do all that color work to mine, but it's yours!

Just trying to to come up with a "good look" I like the copper tubing look, and the black bolts giving a "bolted on look" Just undecided on the colors or which ones to use. Maybe just 2 colors or 3?

I'm also a Miami Vice fan, I do like some pastel colors, and going a little outlandish !

The attention you put into it is great. Color scheme looks like playground equipment. Not my cup of tea there, but if you narrowed it down to the lines and bolts the way you have them and maybe just one or two other colors for the parts, then it would look fantastic. I would look for complimentary colors. Maybe just choose one bright color and make the rest of it a little more neutral. So long as you’re taking the time to clean it up, that’s the important thing.

I'm going to eventually someday rebuild the whole engine, its got 200k on it but still runs strong, so I want to get another 100-150 out of it first. Just trying to see what I might want it to look like.

Once I re assembled everything else, it didn't look quite do outlandish, but I agree one or two colors is enough, just haven't decided which colors I like better !
