Thanks all for the information.

So you need unlocked ECM or PCM? Are these costly or hard to get ?

Also mentioned about Tune? Curious why you would need to tune it just to drive faster.

As for the tire part. I purchased new rims. 20X9. In process of getting tires for the new rims.
I am looking for S or R rated. Honestly, it's not really that big of issue for me.
As long as I don't kill someone else, I'm fine. Drive faster in my little chevy, no clue what tires it has, never looked.

(new drivers follow the speed limit signs! Or at least get your *** out of the fast lane)
I presume this is the 401 you driving on? street racers usually kill someone other than themselves

No.... 407.
1. it's not a street, it's highway.
2. avg is around 125
3. police don't give anyone ticket unless you are over 140.
4. only people that drive at or under speed limit is old ***** with porsche's, and ferrari's. Poor people don't drive on it cause they can't afford it.
5. Also only reason 4xx series highway's are 100KM so police's can make money with Tickets.

You may want to check with Hemifever, he's near half that. Plus he can do some other tunes for you also.

Thanks I will look into that option as well.

I likely just buy thought so I can play around. I have Rubicon as well. Could use that as test and not care if I break it.

I had my 2018 Challenger SRT to 149 and the previous owner had it to 164 it was all stock as far as I know.
I think SRT's are factory tuned with a much higher top speed limit. A friend has a stock Durango SRT suv he bought new a couple years ago. He has had it to 140 mph and said it was still climbing when he decelerated.
I would also like the speed limiter removed from my 2022 Ram without changing the afr, shift points or rpm limiter but looks like it is not feasible?

The speed limiter is about 105 mph/170kmh. Unfortunately the speed limiter is in the ECM and not changeable with AlfaOBD, if memory serves me correctly you need an unlocked ECM and a tune to remove the speed limit.
Unless you spend some money on suspension/wheels/tires, trucks in stock form don't handle well at high speed.
Not disputing you, but i remember seeing max speed adj in AlphaODB. I was thinking that getting to 120, just enough to **** of my bro-in-law with him still strapped at 105

Oh yeah, GPS has it at 103 max

Yup. It’s in there but as far as I know it doesn’t work. I tried in my truck. It’s in 2 different spots. I set both up to max and left it and I still couldn’t do over 105mpg

I couldn't get it to work with ALPHAOBD for mine either. Got rid of it with my Diablo Tuner. Mine only goes to 120 MPH on my speedometer and it doesn't stop pulling with it buried so I don't know what top speed is now.

@WY-Dave I know the speed limiter is in the EcoDiesel ECM along with the cruise control. I highly doubt it would be different for the gassers.

The only listing Diablo has for 5th gen Ram is

PULSAR + T2 MX Kit 2019-2022 Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi

for over a grand and it does not show speed limiter changes possible even at this price!

Pulsar is bs. Need a true unlocked pcm setup to do a proper tune. The pulsar is a piggyback tuner but all it does is truck the computer. The t2 is just to show live data.

It was mentioned before, and here it will be again.

Driveshafts and u-joints. They have rotational speed limits based on lengths, weights, angles, and quality of balancing. Upgrade these!

Although I must say, Throwing a driveshaft at 180km/h on the 401 would make for a great dashcam crash vid!

Here in Calgary we have the Deerfoot 500. Start your engines ladies, it’s go time!

And I can vouch for this first hand. Back in the very early '80's I had a '68 Charger that I got a wild hair late one night and decided to go fast on an interstate because no one was around. I got up to 130 mph and lifted my foot off the gas when my driveshaft snapped in half. It hit the floorboard so hard it bent my center console and threw my drink and dust in my eyes and everywhere. I had manual brakes and had both feet pushing the brakes as hard as I could while trying to see through watered eyes. The back end kept jumping up in the air when the back half of the driveshaft would try to catch on the joints in the concrete. Sparks were flying everywhere and it took forever it seemed like to get that car stopped. It was by the grace of God that I didn't get killed. I've done speeds like that 100's to 1000's of times and that's the only time something like that happened but it can happen. Slowed me down for a while but like everything else time heals but I will never forget that experience and hope it never happens again. Whenever I go speeds like that now that always comes to my mind and brings me back to what little bit of sanity I still have and makes me slow down!

I tried it on my 2021 Rebel with AlfaODB. It didn't do anything. Maybe it's me...
Changed the setting, no error codes. But when I hit 170km, the Truck sort of dies, feels like engine shuts off, even eco light turns on.

105 MPH, LOL! That's about where the old 3 speed torqueflite would be when 2nd gear got ready to change to 3rd. Yes I bought my truck for performance, sue me! R/T stands for Road and Track, not ruts and trails. Really feels great to get in a little race and be passed by grandma's slant 6 Valiant that would probably do 120 eventually!

Yes, there are many ways to get into trouble at speed. I am an old drag racer and know about scatter shields, broken bell housings, busted rear stumps and dangling driveshafts. With that said, if I need to go 130 mph, say in an emergency situation, then there should be an override available for those who accept the risk.

Governor setting. Why the mention of updated drivelines etc. PPL also tend to forget the suspension , brakes and tires not made for those type of rotational speeds. Not know many PPL put Z rated tires on a truck. My County truck was a Ford F150 and they had that sucker governed at 99 mph. County bought cheap, and we ended having every truck in a shop to have beefed up brakes and rotors put on. The hubs were getting so hot they were melting the Ford Plastic hub caps. Always the cheapest bid, grrrrrrrr.

Ran a Crown Vic to 140, felt like a 72 LTD front end floating, white knuckle driving at the best.

Has anyone gotten the speed limiter raised successfully? I've read where some claim to use alpha to switch vehicle type to be able to get it raised then switching it back, I know there's a risk to doing so and really effing things up that way but some claim success, in just curious if anyone was successful any other way.
