This was a huge week for the Storm. Found out I’m getting a company truck so I’m going to put it up for sale :’(

The used market here is very high, so I’ll get back what I paid for it 2.5 years ago, but the many thousands in modifications will vanish… WORTH IT!

New ride will be a GMC Sierra. Free truck, free insurance snd free gas.

Thanks to everyone for your contributions to this forum and helping me create this beast.View attachment 471436View attachment 471437View attachment 471438

Installed a Rough Country bull bar. Decided to leave the chin shield off instead of cutting it.

I had to modify my fog light brackets slightly so they'd fit, and will install those tomorrow.

I was actually taking a photo of a large flock of geese, which can be barely made out above the cab of the truck. Thankfully only photobombing and not the other kind!

Today I finished replacing the front sway bar links. The passenger side had completely separated and the drivers side had no grease left.
I also started installing a NVison remote controlled lighting system for my aux lights and food lights.
Finished installing the NVison remote controlled lighting system last night. I'm loving it. It can control up to 4 lights or AUX systems and does not require me to drill into the dash to install switches. I just have to figure out where I want the remote control. Right now I have it sitting under my CB radio on a rubber pad.

Got my new tires and wheels.
17”x8” with Duratrac 295/70/17.
Got super lucky with only barely 1/2”
Space before it hits the UCA.
No spacers? And are those OE DG55 wheels (17x8+18, not OEM Rebel)? That's what I put on my truck, but shod with the Geolandar ATs it came with (265/70R17). I added 1.5" spacers in an effort to get the tires flush with the wheel flares, but the narrow tires still don't look "right." I was actually pricing out a different wheel/tire setup, but after seeing yours (which looks perfect to my eye), I'm thinking all I need to do is go to a 295/70R17 tire - if the track of the Warlock is the same as the Tradesman, I think that will get me the look I want.

EDIT - saw your post in another thread that answered my questions - thx.

Love your truck!

Looking forward to seeing the progress. You've got something great too start with as it is :waytogo:

Replaced this since mine decided it wanted a divorce from my bumper yesterday morning.

Upgraded the rear control arms, upper and lower, to fixed length Core 4x4 control arms. The oem arms were to the point that when hitting a bump or even going across railroad tracks it would feel like an angry god would slap the *** end of the truck sideways! At higher speeds it was downright scary. The Core's made a night and day difference.

Washed it, filled the tank, and cleaned the MAP sensor.

The truck's at 77k miles without a tune (I would get the GDE if I could but, California!), there were no codes but the sensor was thoroughly caked over.

Also took the tail gate off and cleaned/re-greased the pivot points, and put the fuzzy side of some Velcro behind the right side bushing to push the tail gate back to the center. The tail gate was close enough to the right side of the bed to chip and wear through the paint. I've got to go to the dealer and pick up some touch up paint next.

I'm going to try and make time in the next few weeks to pull the EGR tube off and clean it out too.

Yes sir youre correct, totally flush fit with my factory fender flares. If i wanted to get a more aggressive stance/look, i'd get 1' spacers; but im very content with the fitment. Also, yeah double check that track compared with Warlocks since they have factory 1'' lifts.
should be good.

Nice, .51" taller and .31" wider than the stock 285's. Any speedo issues with those?
None at all. any bigger like 35s/12.5'' or 305 tires, then youll run into speedo issues if im correct.
feel free to jump in and correct me.

According to an online calculator, 295/70R17 tires are 42mm taller than the Yokohama Geolandar AT LT265/70R17E tires my truck came with, which means my speedo will indicate ~57mph when I'm actually doing 60mph. I'll use AlfaOBD to adjust.

Pretty much based on your photo ;), I went ahead and ordered a set of Yokohama Geolandar X-ATs yesterday - had them on my previous truck and liked them a lot.

BTW, thank you for your service, sir! My truck wears the front plate with submariner dolphins that was on my Dad's truck before he passed in 2018. He qualified on the SS-477 Congor and was an E3 Machinist Mate on the SSR-312 Burrfish (radar picket sub), in charge of the two Fairbanks-Morse 9-cylinder, opposed-piston 'rock crusher' diesels in the forward engine room (he had some good sea stories!).
