Ram order is in.. now the long wait

Just gone done ordering my 2022 Ram 3500 Longhorn (Diesel) up here in Alberta, Canada. Not many dealers are offering FCA pricing due to the demand on HD’s, but I managed to find one who was willing to work with me and build the truck I wanted. Couple other dealers I worked with kept trying to sell me whatever they had on the lot or currently on order. None of those had what I was looking for. I figured why spend what I’m spending on a truck and it not be what I really want. I’m told wait time will be 6 months, I’m hoping it’s closer to 3 or 4.. it is what it is.
Will post the order sheet here shortly, but other than adding the tech group, level 1 and safety group it’s mostly standard otherwise. Picked black and black/tan interior. I just love the detailing on the Longhorn. Hoping it’s hear for camping season!

I ended up buying my 1500 today off the lot. I wouldn’t have added anything, but it had a few things I didn’t want. The dealer told me to order what I wanted, but it would be 12 weeks if I’m lucky. I can’t wait that long. If I could have waited I would have gone the same route you did. Cheers to camping season!

It's worth the wait to get what you want. Luckily I ordered and received my truck just before all this covid and supply shortage stuff happened. Good luck and enjoy when you do get your truck.

I ordered mine last week and it was package that's supposed to have the least delays, hence the 'special' offer. I'm told 12 weeks.

I signed the order on Nov 26. The 2500 Limited Longhorn was assembled on Jan 11, 46 days later. I’m told it will take about a month to journey from Mexico to my dealer.

There may be some light on the horizon for orders. Or, maybe I'm being lied to! Placed order at my dealer on 1/5 for a 2022 Big Horn 4X4 Crew Cab short bed Ecodiesel. Dealer said to expect 3-4 month wait. But, by the 11th, the order was in the system, VIN and VON assigned, all parts available and scheduled for production with an estimated ship date of 1/29 which would be less than 3 weeks from order. Hope it happens. I do have a question for anyone who has traded in another RAM on their new truck. I have a 2016 Tradesman Hemi Club Cab 4X4 with 65K miles I'll either trade in or sell myself. Have you been able to get Blue Book - more - less for trade ins lately?

I ordered a ‘22 3500 Big Horn diesel on 12/7, got my VIN. # now waiting on build date. My dealer was great, guaranteed to give me the trade value agreed to when it comes in, no readjusting for added miles. Looked at a Ford ( also a Ram dealer) and they offered same trade now but readjust at time of final sale. Best sticking with my regular dealer.

I ordered my 3500 Limit HO Dual Rear Wheels with almost every option on it one October 6th. I am picking it up today. I am located in Texas and mine shipped on December 24th. It was 3 months and a week roughly. I would think adding some additional time for shipping would be required for your order. It is worth the wait to get exactly what you want though.

I ordered my '07 5.9 Cummins in Oct '06. It was built in Saltillo and delivered to Dave Smith in 35 days from the start of production. The salesguy had never seen one delivered that quickly. I didn't have much on it so maybe that helped. Things have sure change since the WuHan flu cut in.

I went to 3 different dealers before I found one that would even talk to me about a 2500. The third dealer asked what I was looking for then told me I would never find it and if I did not for the price I wanted to pay. So I sat with him and did the special order. What do you know? I was off by $100. Anyway, I ordered my 2022 RAM 2500 Tradesman with the crew can and 6.4" bed and of course the Cummins on October 25, 2021. In December I got the VIN. And I'm expecting delivery the end of March. I guess we'll see. But on a positive note, I don't have to drive a brand new truck in the winter!

My Ram was from Edmonton, Alberta. Bought used it down here though.
Don't feel bad about the long wait... my friend ordered a new mid-engine Corvette and had to wait over a year due to the Chinese Virus...

I ordered my truck Sept 9th, 3500 HO Big Horn LB 4WD DRW Night Edition w/5th wheel prep and auto level. I'm still stuck in D status, but I'll keep waiting patiently as it hopefully will be the last truck I ever buy.

That is pretty damn good. I’m told 6 it’s going to be at least 6 months.
