Well the no lamps part sucks given that they've integrated them into the fixtures so what used to be a 2 or 3 dollar taillight bulb is now a 500 dollar replacement fixture.

I don't know if those are technically lamps. Hmmm Personally, I would call them assemblies.
Not sure if they are covered. Though I think X amount of LED's had to be out even to warranty them under the 3/36 but I could be wrong.

I would suggest to put your issues in writing to the Customer Service group listed in your owners manual as well as being a squeaky wheel to Ram Cares and the dealer. Ask for escalation at the dealer to the Regional Manager. My 2015 had a kit/service bulletin performed in this area under warranty. USAA will usually take care of you. Take pictures and be sure to document all of the issues. Thank you for your service.

Hey everyone,

I have a 2018 6.7L crew cab 4x4. purchased brand new in 2017 from Clovis Dodge out of CA. Had a terrible experience buying from them so I ended up taking my truck to the dealership across town (owned by the same company). September 2021 I was deployed and I returned to my vehicle Jan 10 2022. Opened my door and a foul odor of mold and mildew hit me. There was water dripping from the oh **** handles and from the visors, the carpet was completely soaked front of cab to beneath the rear seats, and mold can be seen throughout the cab. I dropped my truck off at Fresno Dodge in CA. Was told that the gasket on the third brake light was bad and was leaking. I asked if that would be covered under my extended 6 year 100k mile warranty along with the obvious damage to my roof cab liner, carpet, seat, dash, radio. I was informed that the gasket is not covered and all the damage due to the leaking gasket is not covered.

Kind of at a loss for words with this dealership, if anyone has any advice on what to do please contact me. I have contacted my insurance company but I feel as if this factory defect should be covered along with the obvious damage to my truck.
I think you would be covered as would everything else. I left Kalifornia because of crap like this and the stupidity of the place.
One of the good things about California is there are a few protection for the consumer.
DMV is a big one as is the state attorney general and I think another organization too. Search it up on line. Get the paperwork and then go to the dealer and speak with the GM. Let him know a gasket isn’t a wear item and it is a seal and seals are covered. Tell him you’d hate to have to review them and talk to the DMV about it. Dealers take reviews very seriously and the DMV even more seriously.
After you meet those options and if your turned down you could escalate by taking them to small claims. I’m betting a judge would see it your way and small claims is free and lawyers aren’t allowed so it would be the dealer that has to spend the time.
If you go that route take copies of your filing and send them to the media. Before you do that give the GM one more chance.

It’s a well known issue. There should have been a recall. Happened to my 2015 when it was just under three years old. I got nothing out of them and they are far worse now that they are Stelantis. They care nothing for their long term customers. Check with your insurance and see if it affects your rate. If it doesn’t, just file the claim and be done with it. Mold is not something to screw around with.

My 2018 dose the exact same thing. I went to the dodge house I bought it from and told them and all they said was it’s common with these model trucks and there is nothing they can do. It’s irritating as hell I’ve changed the gasket still leaking changed the whole housing still leaks I’ve given up all I can do is tape it up with frog tape before it rains. So basically I have to drive around with green tape all around my third break light every time it looks like rain. First and last Ram for me I totally regret trading my Tahoe.

For what it's worth, you can get an aftermarket gasket from Amazon or eBay that is a lot thicker than the factory gasket. Had that leak on my 2011 Sport, replaced it with the aftermarket and never had a problem after that.

Absolutely agree. Make yourself a polite and respectful pain in the ass. Do it nicely.
Also make it abundantly clear that you were deployed. Otherwise you would have caught the issue early! Say it again!
Maybe a sympathetic Veteran will come across your claim.
Best of luck!
Thank You for your Service

Unfortunately I’m seeing a pattern here, Ram support for the vehicle is starting to sound like dealerships in the 1980s. I’ve had a problem with my Rambox since day one their answer was, we know it’s a problem, and somehow since they know it’s a problem, they don’t have to fix it. My mileage is 14 to 16 I have the V6 etorque, should be getting 19 to 24 the answer to that is, the estimated GPA means nothing, of course that’s not what the sales people tell you when you’re buying the truck. I had 2 Ridgelines over 15 years, they got exactly what the stickers claimed.
I think we’re just to the point where some of these manufactures are getting away with no quality control and they will continue to as long as they can.

Ram actually emailed me this morning asking how my purchase was and how I’m enjoying my truck lol i spent over two hours telling them exactly how I feel about there crappy vehicles and the hwy robbery the dealer did to me for over $4,500.

O yeah watch your tailgate when you hit bumps they tend to just pop open sounding like a car just hit you. It’s common ram knows won’t do squat about it.

Typically on an extended service contract (not a warranty), the failed part will be covered if it is included in the contract coverage, but not progressive damage. Get your adjuster to work with you and a shop to cover the damage. If you work the deal correctly you may not have to pay a deductible.

Found my 2020 with leaking water into cab. I can only assume its coming from the 3 points of interest that Ram is aware of.
Antenna, 3rd light and seem on roof. It can also be the window itself which i doubt and i read someone saying the door weather stripping. This should be a recall since this is a hazard to air bags, seat belt tensioners, electric short or shock plus the mold and mildew. Im under warranty still, but they want me to pay for rental and keep vehicle for over a month. Ram knows this issue is in all models and years but they quietly fix them. instead of sending a recall to fix issue before the mess and customer complaints.

I have heard of this happening, but don't know how it was resolved. I would call RAM 1800 992 1997 and get a complaint started there. In the past this is the # I've called with a very serious issue, and they did resolve my issue. It took a couple of months. I would for sure get your insurance involved. You must have fire theft and wind coverage. The insides of your truck must have some attention to at least dry out.

By the way Ford trucks have this issue much more that RAMs.

Ill shoot @RamCares a direct message tonight and see if there is anything they can do. The warranty is a MoPar warranty and I have the paperwork they sent me in the mail.
I’m having the same problem with my 2019 3500.
It’s destroying the interior and making me sick. I am a cancer patient with one lung.
Does anyone know how we can start a class action suit against FCA and make them liable for their design issues?
Our insurance companies shouldn’t have to repair this problem.

Look up class action lawsuit laywers in your area, then file ... you will then be able to announce the class action lawsuit to everyone interested in joining ... people just don't follow through with class action lawsuits because they sometimes take months even years to settle which is pretty fawked up if you ask me

You need to throw your deployment right in their face. Like another post said, you would have noticed the problem much sooner if you weren't away serving your country. You took care of them when you deployed now it's time they take care of you. It burns my - - - when people take advantage of veterans. I would also take it up with your JAG and see if they can strong arm them in some way. Write a review saying they hostile toward recently deployed veterans. Just maybe that will get their attention. A big thank you for your service and I hope you can get this resolved.

Working at 2 Ford dealers for 17 years I can tell you the interior has to come out of the tuck along with seats, kick panels, etc. I know of nothing that will kill mold, it has to be removed. If the seat cushions absorbed the mold which is not healthy to breathe they must be replaced... along with the headliner, etc. If the dried rug still smells get rid of it which most likely will be the way to go.

My 2017 3500 had the third brake light leak and also the cab roof lights.
I swear they were covered by a TSB because that was what I threw in the dealers face to get them fixed. The bulletin for the cab lights stated that if one leaked, they were all supposed to be changed. Dealer refused to change them all and changed one. I had to take it to another dealer who was more honest and they changed the rest of them. I didn't pay for either of the repairs (cab lights or third brake light).
The third brake light was not done by the dealer's mechanics. It was a third party glass contractor that was OK'd by the regional Mopar office. The contractor only came to certain dealerships on certain days of the week. If you missed "the day", you had to wait for the next scheduled day for that dealer.

On my 2018 I may have had a problem with the third brake light but I also looked at the sliding rear window. In the end I found both vents behind the rear seat were loose and leaking. Because I park in a level to front higher than the rear just the area below the rear seats was wet. And no the dealer was no help not even with the 10 year warranty they sold me.
