Hi all,

I don't mind the noise in the cabin during city driving but once I am on the highway, it is really loud and I wind up turning the radio up to very high levels just to hear the music.
I was thinking of window deflectors and then read on our site...that they can actually make it worse.
Is there anything that might help?

Thanks
Take Care

What kind of tires do you have? My 2015 Tradesman is the cheapest model they made (so they wouldn't have put any more insulation than the had to..) and it's about silent on the highway.. I don't even hear the exhaust just a little tire noise. I used to have knobbier all terrain tires and they made quite a bit of noise but still overall pretty quiet.

2wd or 4wd? reg cab or 4dr? Lifted or stock? Factory exhaust or aftermarket?

Do you think it's tire noise or wind noise?

I'm with Kurek, mine's a stock regular cab Tradesman and it's really quiet inside at 70 mph. The previous owner put on side window air deflectors. I can't say if they help at all. I doubt it. I'm always leery of these aftermarket claims. I had some on a previous GM pickup and it didn't seem noisier when I removed them. But you can always try them. Maybe it would make a difference. They look nice and keep the sun down a little bit, and rain too if its raining outside (which is kind of a problem with flush-mountd glass in general.

Are the door gaskets properly in place? Double check they're installed and fitted properly.

And tires too as was mentioned above. There could possibly be a broken belt or something which could make more tire noise than normally. Are they inflated properly?

Something isn't right, because these trucks are quiet as a churchmouse in stock configuration. What sort of noise? Any aftermarket doo-dads?

On a Jeep we have, one of the door weatherstrip seals shrunk or was installed too tight and it pulled 'down' out of it's mounting area. Therefore it wasn't making a good 'seal' against the door. It made the cabin a lot noiser ...but not a whistle or howl. It was easy to put it back in place. So it wouldn't hurt to check them.

That's my thoughts as well. My 2017 and current 2019 classic are silent as a big old cushy Buick sedan in stock form. My 2019 was until I put my muffler delete pipe on it. LOL

I have the same type issue as TheDude266. Cabin noise is like the deafening noise when your on a helicopter, loud. I have BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A tires, stock mufflers on my 2019 1500 Big Horn Crew 4x4. Any ideas on solving this issue?

My 2020 is way louder than my 2015 was. Much of it is exhaust (dual and higher RPM due to gearing), but there is more than that going on. Ran the same stock 17's on both, so I've eliminated tire noise. not as bad as OP is describing.

Can verify deflectors add noise with windows up.

My window vent visors do a darn good job of keeping the helicopter type noise out of the cab
I usually drive with my front windows open about 1 1/2", until the desert heat makes me close them
The only time that my tires really get loud is when i drive over a highway test strip, the strips are to find which cement cut patterns give great traction under all conditions, but don't make much noise.
1 very loud place place is on Interstate 10 after passing through El Paso Texas heading East South East. Another spot is on California Highway 805 southbound, just south of California Highway 163.

My 2 wk old 2021 Warlock is the same way. Lots of steep hills here and that little 3.6 screaming at over 3,000 rps constantly is deafening. As soon as I can afford to traded off, it's going. Give me a Hemi any day.

Lots of wind noise in my stock 2018, window and door weather seals in good shape. Seems to come from under the dash by the floor ?

Everyone's idea of loud is a bit different. My truck ('15 1500 5.7 8sp auto with Billi 5100s and rear spring spacers, almost leveled with 2.25" lift and BFG TA KO2) is quiet, for a truck, but nothing like the BMW X3 I had for a while. There is little to no sound deadening on the roof or under the center console, that I know. Am planning to pull the interior one day and fully deaden the floor, doors, rear bulk head, and roof but it just hasn't been a priority yet.
Goal is to be able to take conf calls and have none know I'm on the road.

I get wind noise PAX side, near door (seals good). MY wife's 2010 F150 w/Triton Motor, got all the noise from Driver's side mirror. So I just turn the radio up 3 clicks in the RAM, lol... :33:

ADDED: The F150 in WI, sold to wife's younger son when she died in '16. He had to replace all the seals/gaskets on the trans and oil pan. Seems all those years of being heated up in TX did nothing for -20 to -30 in WI. Both pans leaked, LOL.

I have a 2019 Big Horn 1500, the wind noise is crazy. I can pull in on the door frame and it quiets down or I put the air on recirculate and it gets quieter. Should I return it to the dealer and complain.

If it’s under warranty, yes, let dealer fix it. If out of warranty see what a body shop can do for you.

May be worth checking the rear cabin pressure vents behind the rear seat of both sides for some of you with noise problems. Mine on my 2015 were pretty disintegrated a year or so ago.
