Okay guys im selling my ram and buying a 2022. Best way to get everything i want(rambox, multi function tailgate, pano sunroof, etc) is to order a rebel. But i did just come across a limited 10th anniversary with the blue shade pearl coat paint and indigo/sea salt interior. Its got all i want and some stuff i dont/wasted money- adaptive cruise, pedestrian emergency brake, lane keep, etc., worst of all 3:21 gear. The demo miles are really high at 9000 miles and only have a buy option no lease. I dont care about the miles and dont use a lot, just would like a decent monthly payment. Id rather have a rebel that i priced out at $70,000, friends and f discount brings it to $65,553. Gonna get the price in the morning for the limited and they said i should still be able to get f&f discount on it since still sold as a demo. Ill make sure to check the warranty details for sure. Basically just trying to figure out what i should expect off for the 9000 miles and also if i order how to beat em up on the $65,000 price. Ive read a lot but want to get newer info, i dont think the 20% off msrp still applys right now. Also wish i wouldve sold my truck a month ago cause kbb went from $23-25,000 down to $21-23,000. Been offered $18,500 so far the highest. That limited is really nice, love the color inside and out and nice to have a "special ram"lol, and would be happy with it instead of the rebel but the better suspension, off road tires, skid plates, etc. is more where im at. Anything i should worry about being a 10th anniversary custom color, etc. Also dont have time to leverage my trade in price unless i get the limited as i need to sell my truck now as to take some cash to pay bills and also dont see the price going back up for now. Detroit area. Ill get some pictures of the limited today cause its sexy and it was dark out. I do have a free car to drive if i need to figure things out but....its a car. Thanks for any advice, i really appreciate it.20220301_011420.jpg20220301_012607.jpg

Should be able to do way better than F&F with 9000 miles. Consider that is easily 5% of the trucks major issue free life, maybe closer to ten. It’s 25% of the warranty period. I’d want five grand at least for 9000 miles if I needed a truck now. Call out of state dealers if you need to. Your truck config is out there with fewer miles. If you can wait, just order what you want and don’t fuel the insanity or pay for the dealer’s sales manager benefits.

If it's not the truck you want, and it's an optional purchase, what's it matter what it costs? If I'm dropping over $65k I'm getting *exactly* what I want.

Personally, the Rebel is the only 5th gen I'd have any interest in.

I agree with doc...sounds like you really want the rebel, so I would say find one or order one.

One big plus is that you know the demo truck has no current issues. Some of that electronic stuff is great to have. For example, adaptive cruise control is really nice on a long trip.

I also agree with doc.. I wanted a Rebel but could not swing the price. I opted for a used bighorn, which is a great truck, but it’s NOT A REBEL. if I could afford it, I sure wouldn’t settle. There is nothing else that looks and drives like a Rebel

Wife’s Toyota had adaptive cruise…hated it. It slowed down fine but it would gear down and slam the throttle to regain the original speed. Fortunately it had the option to run either adaptive cruise or regular cruise.

I would think twice before buying a demo with 9,000 miles. I wonder how many folks drove it, how’d they drive it, any salesmen “off road” it? Its gone through almost 1/3 of its bumper to bumper warranty. With that mileage, it’s definitely a “used” car. I’d sure pass.

I'd check your current truck with sites like carmax/carvanna/vroom/autonation every week and see if they can significantly beat out other offers you have.

As for the new truck, I'd order from Mark Dodge seeing that a 70k order would usually have a 8-9k discount before rebates from them. I'd much rather have something brand new for a lower price, built 100% the way I want it. At that point you just have to either travel down to Louisiana to get it or have it shipped back up to you.

Thanks alot for the replys and its exactly what i thought would happen. They want a used car price for sure, just got the first offer on limited and its $69,900 out the door, $4500 in taxes, etc. I laughed at her a little. If they get down in the mid to high $50's+ttl i would consider it but they will never get there. Ill be selling my truck still since the offers are pretty close to low kbb value so i can get em up the little bit. Looks like ill be looking briefly around and then buying if nothing comes up. I have a couple local dealers in more rural area that ill see what they can do with price, seem to be easier. Ill also have to call mark dodge to see how much shipping is cause 8-9000 off the rip is damn good, i might be able to get to the magical 20% off msrp after all. Havent been to louisana in a while so might have to just make a little trip. Just to make sure, if i order a truck it has to be purchased, no lease option? I know the lease discounts tend to be better than purchasing. Thanks again everyone

I screwed up and waited too long. A couple months ago the best offer i got was actually kbb buy offer from 2 dealerships in my area for $22,700 but was busy and needed my truck. That was low kbb then but now its down to $21 low end. I couldve easily got $24,000 then, now ill be happy with 20. Still $2000 more than it was worth a year ago so im good with it!

Just took delivery of a 2022 Rebel GT. It is a beautiful vehicle and looks fantastic parked next to the Limited. Don't settle. These trucks are a LOT of money. Get what you really want.

I had (I say had) a 2021 Limited 5.7. Went from gas station to gas station. Loved the truck but could not feed it. It had 3.92 gears. Traded it off for a BH Level 2 v6. If you are not pulling skyscrapers, 3.21 should be fine. (you can always go down a gear to imitate 3.55 or 3.92) When I went to the dealership to get the BH, it took 7/8 of a 33 gal tank to get there and 1/3 of a 26 gal tank coming back. I would take the demo because you will have all the quirks worked out if they make the money right. I had 7k on mine and was offered 61k for it. But remember "If you drive a hemi, you have to feed a hemi". The thing I miss is the adaptive cruise. Trying to figure out if I can shoehorn it into the BH.

I had an 18 Sport which I loved. I test drove a 22 Sport which was very nice but it didn’t wow me and then I test drove the Rebel and then I bought it. Makes me grin like an idiot every time I drive it. Get the Rebel!!!!!!!!! None of the 5th gens really reach out and grab me except for the Rebel. The red/black interior blew my mind. I know it’s not for everyone but it got me.

Me personally, I won't have anything with a 3.21 in it. I just do not like the way tall gears feel, I don't care which transmission is in front of them. You simply do not buy a $65,000 5700 pound vehicle to save money at the pump.

I want the biggest engine with the lowest rear end gears available because they really don't cost much, if any more to feed than the "economy" models. Wanna save money? Take left-overs for lunch at work tomorrow.

The GT is the only truck that even slightly tempts me to get a new truck.

Rebel hands down, but I would skip the E-Torque option. Engines stopping completely at stoplights is a horrible idea.

In fact, that's the only reason I do not trade mine for a GT, you cannot get one without the ET option.

I have disabled my stop/start with an autostop eliminator. It no longer shuts off at stop lights and signs. And I don't have to press the button every time I start the truck. To me it wouldn't be enough of a reason not to get a GT.

Just use the disable button on the dash if you don’t want it. I disable when I have had a hiway run and then after being in town for a few stops re-enable it. It is far superior to the starter system of stop/start IMO. We’ll see though. It is fully warranted likely for as long as I will own it.
