Wondering what the best oil I should use after a cam and lifters swap..?
Prior to taking apart my truck motor I was using liqui Molly oil that seemed to Quiet down the Lifters considerably. I was thinking about buying this oil again but would like your guys opinion.
I was looking up different types of oil like red line and purple something or another I can’t quite remember but I only could find it in 5 gallon jugs and I think my truck takes seven. I couldn’t find quarts
Does anyone know what the best assembly lube is to use?
Thank you..

Red Line, especially 5w30 has been a proven oil for the hemi. There is tons of documentation here in threads by the members here with positive results with Red Line. Many members report quieter valve train noise with Red Line.

We offer it here

Buy an oil you can go into Walmart and pick it up at a reasonable price. Oil you have to order or get at a specialty shop just is a waste of $.

I've built lots of Detroit, Cummins and Caterpillar, along with a few Perkins, Deutz, Onan, and others. Throw in some Allison, Cat and various other brands of transmissions. Automatic, Powershift, Standard. Cover lots of ground in forty+ years. Lubriplate 105 assembly is what I always used. Don't recall ever having a problem. Even when the units would set for a long time between rebuild and install.
Same with motor oil. The customers wouldn't go for it because of cost, but I have used their motor oil in my personal vehicles for decades. Is hard to find at times but in the past have been able to order it direct from manufacturer.

Assembling airplane engines, we used a 50-50 mixture of STP and engine oil, worked pretty good never had a failure.

So I have around 15 Qts of Mobile 0-20 full synthetic leftover from when I had a Tundra, can this be used in the 5.7 Ram. I do NOT want to do anything to void the warranty or cause an issue with my truck since I am waiting on a build to arrive.

Lemme see...I spend $50k on a truck, and if I hafta replace the engine it's gonna set me back $7k to $9k, but I think I'm gonna run the cheapest fluids off the shelf to maintain it...(many apologies...I just couldn't resist!)

Spend $3k on a unlimited mileage Maxcare warranty. Thats 7 years of running the cheapest oil at 35k miles a year. That’s a all mechanical warranty for 245k miles at the current rate.

Now who’s laughing!!!!

I actually have that warranty...but who wants their work truck to be out of commission for an undetermined amount of time...not me. My truck is the 2nd largest investment in my life, and I intend on treating it the best way possible. I'm not a gambler...and I also don't eat junk food, btw. (and yes...I'm laughing...lol!)

Best educate on design issues unique to Hemi Gen III engines. See the Synthetic Oil Thread for 4,000+ posts, or search on Hemi Tick

Unless you like gambling on $9,500 engine failures.
