Good luck..... I tried many ways, and ultimately gave up. I'd rather build a swing out than try to get it under.
Agreed, A swing arm would be cool.

Something else:

I don’t know I’d mount where they show but…. It’s an option.

If you want the swing arm look at: https://ironvoltgarage.com/

This guy does great work on EVERYTHING!! Look at his Instagram page.

Front: The Front of the Warlocks is lifted .7" over factory using a higher spring seat, also called the circlip. It is fixed to the stock shock body. So there is no adjustment on the stock shock. The Bilstein 5100 and 6112 has an adjustable spring seat allowing different ride heights to be achieved. This is what creates the lift.
@j-b
I have a question about setting the Bilsteins. If I'm understanding this correctly the factory lift is acheieved with the shocks. If I were to install Bilstein shocks set a 0" would my front end lower by .7"? At .7" stay the same?

In other words if I want to acheive a lift of 1" lift over my stock Warlock ride height would I set my Bilsteins to 1.7"?

Basically you want to follow this / your instructions. Your current shocks are probably at clip location 2, giving you that .7 in of lift. I would say that if you set the Bilsteins at clip 1 - yes- you would loose .7in of lift.

You’re basically lifting the coil seat height to achieve lift.

I’d say you’d have to shoot for
Clip 4, “2.1” in of lift. After some miles it will settle to probably 1.9/2.

The Payload on these trucks is known to be quite bad. Speaking from experience the stock coils sucked at handling weight. I had 900-1000 lbs of gear on my first long overland trip in the bed with stock coils, and interstate driving was miserable. Also towed around 5k and also not a fun experience. I will say some timbren bumpstops helped tremendously with payload and towing. I now have superlift SL-140 rear coils and it hauls and tows like a dream now.

Pics:

This is stock springs and not even a lot of wood and you can see the sag.

This is stock springs and maybe 2500 total lbs of trailer weight. (loaded correctly) and she was sagging.

Here's the start of the aforementioned overland trip

Here you can see close to the same overland gear with the new SL-140 springs

Nice looking rig. Given that the stock HD coils give 1" of lift, did you lose that lift with the SL 140s? I've got 3" of rake and only want to install the Bilstein's at the 2" setting. I'm hoping to get a better rear coil that also drops the rear by an inch.

EDIT: I see that these do give a lift. Can anyone recommend a rear coil that will be better for towing/hauling but sit an inch lower than the stock HD coils?

I don't think any company makes a stock ride height coil that has extra payload. If you did want to lower the rear but keep the Payload higher, I would look at either a set of Timbrens, or Airlift bumpstops. The airlift would be my choice as you could take the air out while unloaded for a smoother ride. on stock coils + timbrens it will feel like a 3500 unloaded.

Gotcha. Do you know of any rear coil that will maintain the same rear height as the stock HD coils, ie 1" lift? Looks like your SL140's give 2" lift.

Maybe something like this?

I just installed the TUFTRUCK VT-1223, these coils are solid and I would recommend.

Also - I believe their “Stock HD” coils say they keep factory ride height. Call them, that’s what I did to make sure I got what I wanted / needed.

Hi J-B,

I’m about to put on Bilsteins 6112 set at 2.8, Carli UCA, Carli rear sway link drop for alignment, new linkage front and rear, and Bilstein 5100 in rear with Tuftruck 1223-VT.
Icon 17x8.5 with 315x70
Any thoughts?
Should I add 1.5 body lift? I was worried the tow hooks wouldn’t align so I’ve held off.
You looking intake mods / exhaust?

RAM BIGHORN 4x4 1500, 3.92s

Did the lift! RIDE IS SO MUCH BETTER!!!!

Questions for the gurus:

-To clear 35s, or in this case, 34.4 K02s, do I need to go to the full 2.8, or can I get away with 2 or 2.1?

-How out of alignment will I be after the leveling and UCA replacement, can I drive 30 minutes to a shop to get it aligned?

I'd really love to get the Bilstein 6112 but it seems like they are on galactic backorder so I may go with the 5100's or the 2" Rancho Quicklift.

Thanks!

@dstock you could get 35s under that but you’d probably have some rub when turning and definitely full turn.

Few questions:
Year / model?
What about your rear?
You just looking to level?

Think about this - 2.8 vs 2….. it’s .8 of an inch. Do you think you could tell the difference lookin at it? I debated 8.5 vs 9 in rims for a long time over… .25 of and inch. Wasted so much time over .25 of an inch that wasn’t going to Matter. Your .8 probably is the same.

Yes you can drive 30min without and alignment, it’s just not something you want to do for days on end. If you feel a crazy wobble you did something very wrong in your build. Lol

For 6112 Try:

2021 Ram 1500 Classic Warlock 4wd, I realize it's already lifted an inch.

I just want to level for the time being, not planning on doing anything to the rear other than swapping shocks. I do not want rub and I do go off pavement.

I totally get the debating the smaller details, I am guilty of that for sure! I was going to have the install done locally but shops seemed overwhelmed, so I was going to do it myself. Just have to locate some good spring compressors to rent! Not my first lift install but first on a Ram. The Rancho Quicklift I could just bolt in, but that would be me being lazy.

Has anyone put 35's on a Warlock without a leveling kit? I've got limited garage height (7ft) so I'm not looking to go with much of a lift if I can avoid it. Thinking Black Rhino 17x9.5 0 offset and 315/70 17 K02's which are more like 34.4"
I think stock wheels/tires combo checks out to about 33", so 35"s I think would not be an issue, unless your truck is less than 2" clearance from the door already. Unless you meant width, not height. If so, then I have no idea.

Haha you're not stomping on it at all. I wanted to create a thread where people who are new to this platform could get some advice. It also stinks that when shopping for parts you really have to deep dive to get the right things on these warlocks.

a 2500 will most likely be the next upgrade once kids get thrown into the mix lol.
The biggest issue I have found is alpt of these aftermarket sites can't be bothered to have a 1500 Classic section, and will just tell you to "check the 2018" area. Unfortunately, it seems to be the sites that have a lot of parts available that are the ones that don't bother. The Classics are at such a level price wise that makes it a lot easier, financially, to make it yours with the aftermarket parts out there. Again, after a deep dive to make sure that they will actually work with your "5th Gen" year'd DS.

Not 100% sure it is just achieved with the shocks, but yes, the factory lift is through a suspension lift, not a body lift, if my research is correct.

What I have seen on a couple of car shows, have not tried it myself, as I have not done any suspension mods on any of my vehicles, but what they do is a side by side old/new parts and set the new to approximately the same length/adjustment/dimensions as the old, like if the 4-link arm has adjustable heims on it, set it to the same length as the old one that came out, and that will get you close enough to get it to an alignment shop and get it done correctly. Unfortunately, there are some parts of the suspension where if they are off that much, it could cause issues, but as you said @RAM_CHAOS, you should get an alignment done sooner rather than later.

Did you install them on a Classic/DS or a newer DT? The page just says 2009-2021 so presumably it would work with both.

Thanks for all the input.

I've actually done multiple lifts over the years, mostly involving Jeep, but I'm working 6-7 days a week right now and just need to get it done

Luckily I found a local shop that actually answered their phone and took the time with me to go over the options. I've got an install booked for the end of this week, Bilstein 5100's all the way around, BFG K02's in a 285/75-17s, roughly a 34" to avoid having to do a bunch of trimming, and a nice set of Method 701s in a 17 x 8.5.

They are going to take care of alignment and headlight adjustment as well.

Crossing fingers but they have a very good reputation and I really enjoyed talking with the guys at the shop.
