To put the washer or oring on? If so it just slips over the pin or post. Takes a few seconds.
Mine doesn’t look like it has space or it’s migrated up. I’ll post a pic later not sure why driver side looks like it has no room and passenger side I can see pin and roller is def down on it maybe I need to tap it.

Yes, it taps down easily.

If that's the case, it didn't work that way on my driver door. The roller works it way all the way up the post and stays there. Then it would stop rotating due to the friction between it and the top of the post. I would lower it and lube it only to have to redo the process constantly.
That’s what my driver side door has done I’m assuming after the door over extended after a windy day where it caught it good.

I dug through my stash and found an assortment of O rings. I found one I thought might work and popped it on the top of the roller shaft. Presto!! No more noise! I have several more of these so we will see how long it last. I love this forum!
What size is that im at tractor supply right now and looks like a 3/8 will fit or do I want 7/16?

The washer I put on in my original post is still holding up and working great, haven't heard any noise in almost a year.

I thought my grandfather was nuts when he told me to spray it with Pam. I'm the idiot because it works and it's lasted a few weeks so far.

This forum is like hanging out with a bunch of MacGyvers.

You mean how car repair used to be??? Or... Why I'm here? :)

I love the "hack" way we fix some of the issues. "Dealer wants unholy sum of money to band-aid, but here is a $2 fix that LASTS!"

Example: Dealer wanted $1300 for my radio delam, but this forum saved me $1298.85 (I used isopropyl I already had, but a **** load of it, and a bunch of paper towels.) [As an example of why I'm glad I'm here!]

I picked up some of the 1/4"x1/2"x1/16" rubber washers today. There's not enough clearance on the driver's side door to place a washer on the post. The passenger side is a different story however. It makes the irritating "sqounk" noise. A rubber washer fit easily on the post. Noise is gone for now.

I don't know how to account for the fairly large difference in the amount of clearance/space between the driver and passenger side posts. Huge tolerance difference IMHO.

Anyway, it's quiet for now.

The roller on the post slides up and down. Try tapping it down.
