I looked on the Melling site to see what they offer and noticed the pumps only fit a range of engines ending at 2018. Is this because Chrysler/Ram have updated the pump from 2019 and above or simply due to casting changes that they have not yet produced? Thanks.
More likely Melling hasn't updated their site. The Hellcat pump is generally considered to be a better upgrade over the Melling pump

True. Really like how this guy demonstrates and explains. This video shows the comparisons between stock/Melling/Hellcat on a hemi. My only concern would be the computer throwing a code for too much psi?

Just think you could have bought the Mopar Maxcare lifetime warranty for $2-3k. It was still the true lifetime warranty then.

***UPDATE***

I just swapped coil/plugs from cylinder 7 to cylinder 1. I cleared the codes.

The first thing I noticed is that the engine light would come on while accelerating and then go off in MDS. Thoughts on that?

More importantly, the misfire code did move from cylinder 7 to cylinder 1. So I guess that means I was overreacting before? Should I just go ahead and swap all plugs and coils, or should I just do the 1 cylinder and see if things clear up?

thanks for everyone's help. I really like my truck and want to keep it for many more miles, so I'm hoping this clears things up.

if I buy another mopar in the future, I likely will as long as they can be had for used trucks.

good job, not overreacting just learning man. Now you could isolate what it was coil or plug, or replace both on 1. Done deal enjoy the truck. As you said your last blackstone report said wear was good, if that was true, you most likely have a hemi that will be one of those 500k engines. Just fix the small stuff, keep that lubrication strategy. Pay attention to filter choice and any ticking at start up.

I would replace the coil and spark plugs you now have in cylinder #1 and drive it enough till I convinced myself the problem is solved and that's when "I" would replace all other cylinders with new coils and plugs.
not a bad plan, depending on what failed it's cousins could be be not far behind. Good idea to do this and keep the throw aways, never know when they might come in handy, especially going on vacations it is good to have a spare or two.

not too far. I'm in Toms river which is northern Ocean I guess.

Do you work for a shop or do things on your own?
I am on my own at the moment I am up near sandy hook. Like others have said I would replace just 1 coil and plugs on that cylinder if it runs great after a while replace them all. If you ever have any other major issues with the ram feel free to msg me I also have a lot of parts laying around for these trucks.

That's right. I have 8 spares now because I wanted red coils when I changed my plugs! LOL

Unless MSD has upgraded their Hemi coils in the last year, the factory coils are better. There's only a couple after market coils better then the stock coils, like SOS's coil,MSD's coils aren't one of the better coils. They used to be better then the stock coils up till the factory coils were upgraded for irridium plugs in late 2013. If you're going off the video from way back in 06 comparing the stock coils to MSD's coils, that video is out dated now.Guys are pushing well over a 1,000hp on the stock coils.

***ANOTHER UPDATE***

sorry for all the detail here, but hopefully it helps someone else

I drove to the autoparts store. its probably 2 miles away. the code came back on. Shudder came back. Additionally, I heard a tick that wasn't there before. Not sure if that had something to do with cylinder 1. On the way home it got way worse. really loud tick, almost no power, and vibrating like crazy.

I put the new coil and plugs in, cleared the codes, took it for a 10 mile drive and it feels like new. No new code, no shudder, gobs of power. I cant even remember the last time i have had the pedal to the floor, but it felt and sounded great. Hopefully we're all good.

I'm going to drive it for a few weeks. If all is well, I'll replace the other 7 coils and put all new plugs in. I also very recently did an oil change and still have the old oil. so ill be sending that into blackstone.

thanks again for everyone's help. Come 5 o'clock i know I'll be cracking a beer or two.

I didn't change them for performance reasons, if the factory one's were red I would have left them. I replaced the factory plugs with the irridium plugs also, I have no plans on changing plugs every 30,000 miles. Been doing great for the past 15,000 miles for me so far.

I've run redline since 40k when I bought it and I always turn the MDS off.

I was driving last night on the highway and the truck started to shudder, and the engine light came on. I pulled over. I happened to have a code reader in the truck, and the code came up as Cylinder 7 misfire. I cleared the code just so I could get home and it started and ran fine other than it wanting to shudder a little bit with light throttle going up a long hill. Regardless, I think we know what's going on. The more I drive it, the more damage I'll do to the cam. So I'm just going to leave it parked for now.

I'd love to just take it somewhere, trade it in, and pick up another vehicle so I don't have to deal with it. However, trading something in with an engine light on seems like a great way to get nothing for the trade in. Right now there is no code since I cleared it, but I'm sure if I drove it around enough it would come back. If I tried to trade it in without a code, I'm pretty sure the dealer can tell that a code has been cleared recently.

I was going to start calling around today to shops and see if they would quote me cam/lifters. I'm sure they'll want to diagnose it first and try coils/plugs etc, but it's likely we'll end up at the cam/lifters. I'm probably looking at a $5-8k repair here on an 11 year old truck. It may make sense to fix it since a comparable truck is probably still ~$25k here right now.

any thoughts on how to approach this?
I had same issue on my 2012 Ram1500 134K miles. Always ran good oil with ProLong, had to replace cam for $7K

Painting the original coils would of been far cheaper, lol. You'd be better off with new factory coils if you're running irridium plugs. The replacement OEM coils are the upgraded coils these days. Copper plugs are superior to irridium plugs for making power, you should know that, plus a whole lot cheaper.
