So this has been a not so fun experience. Took my truck to the dealer for the radio install. The original plan was to replace the radio due to the fact that they said the updates do not work and my radio is toast (it came out of the loop after 2 days of update error screens). The agreed price was $408 OTD. I drop it off. They call me 2 hours later and say, "yeah...we put the wrong VIN in the computer and have the base model radio. Yours is more advanced and we will need $1100+ to correct the issue with a radio to match yours." I promptly picked up my truck and left.

Emily from Uconnect left me a voicemail yesterday, I tried calling back, left messages and talked to another tech to sent me back to her voicemail. At this point, my radio is working, short of Nav being 200 miles away and receiving weather warnings from that location. What do I do now?

Is this not a known issue for this model year radio? Should FCA not take ownership and correct the issue?

Do you know what you're current firmware level is and the year of your radio?

It looks like you may have a UAQ radio. What is the filename of the update you are trying to flash?

Not sure where I would find the VIN cant connect to the radio with AlfaOBD. I have an ezlynk connected and an obd reader that works with the body computer but cannot connect to the radio. The pictures are of all of the screens in dealer mode. Open to suggestions.

Tried several files from the lists around here. All of them say VP4R_Update

just tried 21.9 with no luck again with error 20
I recommendation not trying to flash it. Every radio I've seen with Error 20 has never recovered. It great yours has recovered to usable.

Its possible your issue could be hardware related to the GPS antenna itself. You can test with a cheap antenna from Amazon in about 15 minutes.

Today I received a call from the dealership I went to and asked how things went. I was polite as I went through the whole experience. She apologized about my situation and said she would definitely figure out what happened and prevent it from happening again. (swapping VIN numbers and ordering wrong radio) I received another call from the dealership. He also apologized, asked me for the VIN number again and said they were ordering a radio free of charge because they valued me as a customer and wanted my continued patronage.

I am happy for the obvious reasons, radio fixed for free and the kind words, but the responsiveness I have witnessed from RamCares, UConnect and the dealership.

Thank you for your time and help in resolving my concerns.
