Lifetime service contract people said to me, "You are only required to do what it states in the owners manual"
Since owners manual states it is a lifetime fill, I am considering doing nothing as it would be harder for them to deny coverage vs. having anyone do service on it.
Tough call.
I hear you on this......I've considered doing this also. If the transmission bonks out, I'll just have Ram replace it under warranty. Nothing they can do about it. I just hate running fluid that long and risking a breakdown while on a trip. With my other vehicles, I do 60k trans fluid changes and have had zero issues. So far my '16 Rebel has 80k on it.

The crazy thing is.....I know at least one local dealer that uses BG fluid products exclusively in their service dept.......that's not Mopar fluid. I wonder what happens to folks that get serviced there, drive for a few years and breakdown at another dealer. I guess you still have the proof that a dealership did the work.

Same here, I pretty much ONLY use the truck for trips, including one where I tow the boat from PA to the FL keys.

I just ordered up the PPE pan. For those that have a gov x membership, you can get a 10% discount from PPE. My total out the door came to $288, I think. I found a fel-pro gasket on rockauto for stupid cheap. I will decide during the swap if reusing the OEM gasket is a better option than the fel-pro.

I don’t understand the need for magic potions in this transmission, run the OEM.
oh yea, the super expensive, the "as mysterious as magic potion", the "epitome of advanced German fluid engineering"
that fluid
right

Ill stick to maxlife and other known quality oils as tested by members here. feel free to keep paying for special zf bottles!
