I have a 2020 ram rebel and had the rear window replaced a couple of times due to a water leak.

Anyway, after the glass was replaced a couple of weeks ago I noticed that when you open the rear sliding window, you can see the cable in the window.

I’m guessing it’s normal but don’t remember seeing the cable in the past , although I haven’t used the rear window a lot.

Can someone please let me know if this is the same on your truck or if it should be brought back to window installer?

I would not think that Ram would have designed it that way :(

Actually that is normal for 5th gens with the rear window defroster. The cable is for the defroster grid on the sliding portion. It's not noticeable unless you remove the headrest from the rear seat on the driver's side with the slider open.

The motor for the cable is located quite a ways below the sliding part of the window.
The cable goes from the motor up to both bottom corners of the sliding glass.
The motor rotates in one direction to Open
then it rotates the opposite direction to Close

Yes, you're correct. But it's the electrical cable for the defroster grid on the slider that this thread is about, not the mechanical cables used to open/close the slider.

Listening in on this...as I've never noticed any cable visible back there...and...I about to have my rear window replaced due to a crack in the frame.
