Agree with the other posts, all makes have their issues. My 2018 CC V6 with 3:21 4X4 has been pretty much trouble free. Cruise control switch, 3 way coolant valve, driver side mirror and delaminated 8.4 radio have been replaced under warranty. In my experience that’s about average for a vehicle. It’s a comfortable truck and I find the build quality and materials used to be above average. For my use it fits my needs. Maintenance in my humble opinion is key for anything mechanical. As a DYI’er I do almost all my own maintenance and that saves a small fortune. The only truly horrible vehicle I’ve ever owned is a 2015 Ford Escape with the 2L echoboost. One look under that thing will make you cringe. Leaks from everywhere with a constant coating of oil, grease, blow by over the entire undercarriage. At this point in time it’s cheaper to keep it versus the cost of something new. Rams are pretty popular these days and with so many on the road I’m sure there are a few lemons. You don’t really hear about the ones without problems.

SURE wish these new DT trucks had 3 way HCV instead of the redesign with Blend door BS. AC work a lot better if not being sloshed with 200 degree coolant the whole time AC is on, wat a sorry a**** re-design. No Eco Boast for dis Boird. I did look at a 2022 Tundra, 1794, fully loaded. BLING out the ying yang. But it has the new V6 twin turbo (also hybrid options), and the prices start at 67K MSRP, plus, and Toyota for some odd reason had a bad run of Turbo's and all the right side turbo's doing the self-implosion method, some at 300 miles. SO not fer dis BOIRD. But I do enjoy my old true and proven 5.7 and no E torque, LOL. Helps to be paid off too.

Thanks for the Feedback everyone. Looks like I am just getting my issues outta the way early lol.

Yep, I don't see anything out of the ordinary except for the manifold bolt. But, anything can happen to mass produced vehicles, with a lot of different suppliers. I just got my Laramie on 07/15/22, and won't say anything right now as I don't want to jinx myself. :)

I agree, IDT any of the issues the OP listed are major issues. Get them fixed, see how yr two or three goes. Hopefully, once ya get things worked out it (hopefully) will give years of trouble-free use. Some people have other major engine or drivetrain issues, fortunately you haven't had those.

Mine's a 2012. Close to 171k miles. Bought it used some yrs ago. I personally haven't had problems since I bought it. But at those miles, I'm prepared for anything. The dealer look-up on it didn't list any major repair work being done (in their system). If something craps out big-tie, I'll just fix it or put another one.

I may be the exception, 3 rams since 2011, 1 dodge. Virtually no issues,,

11 150k miles, normal wear, 3 sets of tires, 1 set of brakes and rotors, 3 sets of plugs, 1 set of coils (my choice), 1 battery, 1 set of manifold bolts. OCI, 6k, 8k after switching to redline. SRT filter. (GONE but not forgotten)

16, 64k, 1 set of tires. Oci, 6k, redline 5w30, since 20k, RP 20-820. Catch can, my choice.

14, purchased used, 1 set of tires, lots of mods, but nothing required as they were all my choice. It's RCSB, with a supercharger.

15 durango RT AWD, 1 set of tires, 1 battery due to leaving dome light on at -20. (Human error).

Redline 5w30 RP 20-820 filter, 4k oci, lots of stop and go, only driven in town.

My dealer never sees me, if a recall occurs, I decide if it needs to be updated. If no, it's not done.

Vehicles are always parked inside, never outside unless traveling. Are driven in extreme weather conditions, live in Montana, and Virginia. Lots of cross country at higher speeds, occasionally tow a 7x14 tandem trailer.

My point, I would not hesitate to buy another ram or FCA vehicle of any type.

I will add that it has already been serviced twice and uses synthetic oil. I try to take really good care of my Truck. The General Manager of the Dealership reached out and seemed surprised about the amount of issues. He looped in the Service Manager and my Sales guy.

Honestly I love my Truck and if these issues can all be fixed up I think the Truck will be in good shape moving forward. The manifold is the least worrying issue as I know it's a known issue for Hemi's. I am just concerned about what else might not have been assembled correctly. I'm going to ask when they bring it back in for the repairs to do a bumper to bumper inspection for anything else that sticks out.

Thanks for all to information everyone! I am feeling a lot better about this :) This is a great community!

I have learned alot from all of the members here that have posted up with their experiences. Without them, I wouldn't have been able or felt comfortable tackling some of the issues with my Ram. A really awesome bunch, they are.

The manifold bolt issue has happened to alot of us with our hemi's, and unfortunately, some more than once. While you have had a couple other issues, they seem minor. Maybe unusual as well, but it has been a weird last couple of years, as we all have experienced. Might not be over yet.

Any vehicle can have issues at any time, and the best we can do is take care of them the best we can. Keep them maintained, and fix as needed.

Welcome to the Ramily.

Wait until its been 10Y ...lol...

I rather keep my 10y old ****box over buying these new POS Rams with all the useless electronic garbage.
My brother has a 2013, I believe. We found a glaring difference - the bolts to hold the jack and seats to the floor go under the floor and are exposed underneath on his Ram 1500. On my 2021, they do not go thru the floor like that. His bolts are all RUSTED now and he broke one just trying to get it out.

Just an example to me that Ram has paid attention to some things, at least, and improved them.

One more very important fact, all vehicles build before the pandemic bs are different then the once build in the pandemic and after, the lockdown period take its toll, parts shortage have huge impact on the quality of the final product, production lines stop working for some time, after the come back ,this cars are never the same as before, humans error, condition of the line workers wasn't a 100%,so all of them car manufacturers have a lot more problems with their products, we are not robots and the **** outside have impacted our daily lives.

I tell anyone, regardless what brand they own, that simply switching brands does NOT solve issues. You simply trade on set of issues for another set of issues. No truck is perfect, and never will be. RAM makes a DANG GOOD truck for a price generally below the competition. Yes there will be issues with any brand but simply fix 'em and go on.

I have a 2004 Dodge Rwm with 108,000 miles on it. I am reluctant to purchase a new one with all the problems I see with the new ones.
Mine was built when it was Daimler-Chrysler and I think the quality was better then because I've had few problems over 18 years.

Hey All,

I just rolled over my first year with my 21 1500 Classic SLT 4x4 Crew Cab. It has 317 Engine hours and 7,542 Km. I obviously don't drive a whole lot. I have experienced more issues with this Truck then any other vehicle and want to see if this if normal for the Truck or should I be worried. To be clear I love my Truck I am just worried about the problems:

Tailgate would not close due to improper assembly. Replaced Bushing.
Center Console Broke and needed to be replaced. Apparently Assembly issue.
Front Bumper assembled incorrectly. Causing damage between upper and lower bumpers. Awaiting approval for fix from Chrysler.
Exhaust manifold bolt broken. Covered under warranty.

Appreciate any input!
Buy a Toyota, At least you don't have piston slap like most do, but that could be next.
