I did the infinity 9630CX components in my doors and dash. Just saying there is a 6x9 component option.

Backed with the right power I have no loss in bass, but I'm running two infinity amps, one for the speakers and one for the sub, also infinity. Truck came with 7 infinity speakers, still has 7, just not the 7 it came with.

It didn't really sound great until I got into the head unit and played around with the parametric eq. System sounds pretty amazing now.

Welp, changed my mind.
I don't have dash speakers so just the 4 in the doors. Weird being a Sport model but it also has the crap head unit, .... so just going to go with 3 ways in front, 2 ways in back. That's good enough for the truck.

Searching Amazon after listening to speaker comparisons I'm going to get Infinity's (ref 9633ix and ref 6532ix) as on Amazon($159 for all 4) they are indeed cheaper than Crutchfield,...JBLs are not. Ordered those today.
Very close sounding to the JBLs in sound but that little better difference sold me,..... and also Amazon has the head unit I want that comes with the Sirius XM tuner for the same price as Crutchfield without it.
I can use it with my existing XM Tuner in my Ram with the Sat1 Fakra cable.

get a set of Kenwood KFC-6903c for the front doors and don't look back. these were designed to fit in a ram. they have a 6x9 woofer for the door and a 3.5" midrange for the dash. just like factory but sound way better than oem, better than the infinity, or kicker that most install.
you can install a set of kenwood excelon coaxils for the rear doors if you really want some rear fill.

Buy separates, put tweets in the door sails and amp it. Rock out!

Put the Infinity's in today. Both sets are Reference (9633ix and 6532ix)
A lot louder and sounds a lot better than the stock.....which were pathetically light, and small magnets, crappy. Hec the 5.25 rears weighed more than the 6x9 fronts.

Ordered head unit but won't be here til next week (Kenwood DMX47S)

Yes seperates would be great but just wanted to improve sound and get a better unit I can use with Android Auto.

I'm sure it will be even louder with the new deck. It has 50 watts per channel and the stock only has 66 watts total and still louder with the Infinity's.
Not the head banger I used to be lol. So not planning on an amp but we'll see how it sounds.

Look it up on Crutchfeild, buy it from Amazon. Can't compete? Tough ****sky.
That's exactly what I've done with mine. But, I read a lot of posts in this forum before I bought anything. I have the Infinity Reference 9633's in the back doors and really like them, but I chose to use the option to reduce the level of output for the tweeter. I did see some for $89 on Amazon but they were "refurbs".

That is weird. Even my base Gen4 Classic Tradesman with the 5" head unit came with 6 speakers (2 on the dash).

https://www.amazon.com/Infinity-Ref...-way+car+audio+speaker,electronics,233&sr=1-4 Put them in all 4 doors. If I remember correctly, the fronts had to go in upside down to clear correctly. Put these in the dash....Be careful you don't drop the screws. https://www.amazon.com/Infinity-REF...ay+car+speakers+-+pair,electronics,246&sr=1-6

The kenwood excelon separates kill the infinity 9633IX. It also makes no sense to install a 3 way in the bottom of the doors. The highs should be coming from a higher location in the cab to fill it properly and the mid and bass should be coming from the lower position. You could do a two way in the rear doors for some fill, what I did, with some separates up front. It will sound way better set up this way.
The Infinity’s you are talking about do sound good don’t get me wrong. I’ve installed a few sets for friends who were dead set on them. They all kicked themselves after listening to my truck, built it after theirs.
And no, quality aftermarket speakers absolutely do not produce less bass. Sounds like a bad install and probably wired out of phase. Out of phase will absolutely kill the bass. Don’t assume they are wired correctly from the factory. My right front was not. Lol. One buddy was going to add a sub but when I finished his build he decided it had plenty. Hell most thought my build had a sub before I added it while trying to decide on my enclosure, sub and amp.
This right here is gold! I don’t know how the 5th Gens are setup but the 4th gens use capacitors to limit frequency ranges on the dash and front door speakers. Essentially mimicking a tweeter or high frequency speaker in the dash and a woofer or low frequency speaker in the front door. While OEM speakers are full range the caps limit the frequencies they reproduce. When upgrading to aftermarket we all want the best sound possible and many folks choose a multi-way speaker for the front doors. The soundstage is created by high frequencies and best served in front of the listener. This creates the ability for our ears to recognize where vocals, instruments and placement on a stage come from. The dash speakers provide this aspect of the sound reproduction. By adding high frequency capable speakers to the front doors you essentially create a second soundstage that is down around your knees or ankles. While some people find this sound immersive like surround sound many call it “muddy” or sounding unclear because the ear can’t tell where the vocalist is on the stage or the crash of a cymbal sounding like it’s coming from behind you when we are used to the cymbals being in front of us on a stage. Multi-way speakers for the rear doors are fine as they are just used for fill in sound but the front speakers matter most. Keep the high frequencies up high around your shoulders or face like the dash speakers do to set the soundstage and keep the highs out of the front doors. As IDSandman stated component speakers are the best option for the front. I completely agree with his assessment that the low sounds or bass is really brought out with the proper front door speakers. I’m using Kicker 6X9 mid/woofers in the front doors of my 2018 and the bass from them is as good as most 8 inch subwoofers without the need for extra amps, wiring and space.

fyi the sat1 doesn't allow you to use your trucks sat tuner, it only allows you to us the antennae. the tuner is built into the oem head unit. you will need a new subscription with the new tuner, it usually comes with a 3,6, or 12 month trial one.

I'm actually getting a new tuner along with the head unit and the Sat1 will allow me to take the antenna cable from factory box to the new box.
Comes with a 3 month service. IDK if I'll renew it though. I rarely do but the Sat1 cable was $8 and new tuner was $20 and gives me the option if I want it.

That's exactly what I said about the sat1 connector. I was mearly correcting your previous post where you said it would allow you to use the existing xm tuner in your truck which it wont.

mine was supposed to come with 3 months free, but when i registered it with them, they gave me a full year. it's pointless to me since i still have a lifetime subscription. just waiting for the 12 month to end so I can transfer my lifetime to that tuner.

Kenwood (DMX4707S) unit went in the truck today. Took me quite a bit longer than I thought it would.

Was going to do it yesterday but discovered a nail in my front tire and had to get it fixed at Discount tire and they had it til 2:30, but they squeezed me in so, cool. ..and got a tire rotation.

The wiring harness was slightly different from the truck to new adapter so had to research what the wires did and only had to make one mod.

There was a small factory harness along w/ the main harness with only three wires on it in the stock radio that I didn't use. Still don't know what those do but all my speakers work.

So I had to take the pink with yellow stripe from the lighter and use that as my ignition power as it didn't turn on at all by just plugging in the harness adapter.
Factory harness didn't have that wire in that spot anyways. Kinda weird.

Put a USB port to the unit in it's place to use Android Auto and kept the other power port with a USB lighter adapter for other USB things.

It was very hot in the garage as it was 104 today outside but wanted to get it in.

Had some issues. One of the vents busted off, had to rig that back in and had a hard time finding which hole combo on the brackets (must of been 10 or 12 different hole combos) worked for proper fit/height and the provider screws were barely long enough.

Haven't had much of a chance to mess with it a lot but did program radio stations. Haven't tried AA yet or much else. What I have tried worked well though. Set up phone but didn't test the mic or didn't set up Sirius XM for the trial yet.
