I already did that none of them in stock for a 4wd sport

Well crap, you must have my luck. I was hoping that could find you one. If you have a "Pull-a-part" yard near you maybe they have a used one. Or, maybe just the run of the mill junk/salvage yard could have one. It's so aggravating to get new stuff we need these days, and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. Good luck.

Unless you're autocrossing with the truck, there's a good chance you won't even notice it missing.Lots of trucks that are drag racing don't have the front swaybar on them, including mine. The front swaybar is also missing on my wifes Challenger ,and it's not even noticed on the car either.I wouldn't worry about it missing for a month if you have to wait for one.I drive roads where there's grizzly bears in the ditch, and don't even notice the front swaybars missing

If you're towing that heavy with a 1500,hopefully you've upgraded the rear swaybar. Why in hell don't you have at least a 2500 if you're towing 10,000 lbs, that's more then a 1500 should have tied to it's asss.If you can afford a 10,000 lb boat, you can afford a 2500.Just my .02 though, but i think you're nuts to tow that much with a 1500.

Last year, I recall driving down a country road (at night) on the way home. It was late enough there wasn't any traffic. Out from a corn field trot a couple deer. It was so sudden and close ...one of those oh-shhhht moments, lol. I barely had time to stomp on the brake and do a very sudden and quick 'Left-Rright-Left' jog of the wheel. It must have been like the test track videos you sometime see where they squeal around slalom cones (where the tires look like theyre peeling over the rims!).

Anyway, anything that was sitting on the seats ended up on the floor! But I missed the deer by a hair and was truly amazed how well the 1500 handled it ...like it was no big deal. Pretty sure the traction control kicked in. Not my first run-in with deer by any means, but I suspect the front sway bar was a big part of helping keep it under control in that particular fast maneuver situation.

I wonder if other Ram owners have had their's crack too, if the salvage yards don't have them. The old 'solid' anti-sway bars used to be hardy, not much demand for them at junk-yards. But the mfgrs have gone with hollow-core anti-sway bars for many yrs now.

Do the Hellwig bars come from overseas ?
Or are they made locally ?
They don't make one for the 4X4's GT. I've never found an aftermarket front bar for the 4X4's.If i remember right there are either 2 or 3 differant factory front bars, and i think the big one is 33mm,but don't quote me on that,as it's been several years since i was looking into front 4 X 4 swaybars

car-part.com shouldn't have a problem finding one and having it shipped to you

The front sway bar on my 2013 Ram 1500 express had cracked and I called a auto salvage yard that put me in their nationwide system and I recieved about six replies from places that had one about a hour later. I got a factory sway bar with no rust for $250.00 shipped. Give the salvage yards a try you may get lucky.

How long is the crack? Any way you can weld it with like a stick welder ...reverse polarity, high strength rod? Then immediately oil-quench the welded area?

When I was a kid in high-school, I fabbed up a few custom anti-sway bars for cars I owned. I'd get torsion bars out of early 70's Toranado's because they were long enough and thick. Back then they were 1" or 1 1/8" bars ...which was way larger than the typical 60's or 70's anti-sway bar. Then I'd take the front sway bar (usually they were ~5/8" back then), and swap it around ...install them on the rear diff of the car (hardly any cars back then had rear anti-sway bars). The new anti-sway bars front and rear, along with some wide fiberglass glass ovals on aluminum wheels, my cars in high-school handled flatter and cornered faster than anyone elses (except those trans ams!). I'd bend a section of the Toronado torsion bar in a vise and make the bends. Then immediately oil-quench each bend as I went. I ran those anti-sway bars for many years ...put the car in the ditch a couple times, etc, never tweaked or bent one.

So if it was me, I wouldn't hesitate to remove it, V-out the crack a little with a grinder, weld it as mentioned above. I suspect it'll hold great and you'd never know the difference. Worst case, you could still buy a new one, but run the welded ASB for several months. If it holds up, then sell it locally for the price you paid for the new one.

What does a sway bar have to do with stopping a trailer? Unless your trying to massively turn the truck and trailer while braking a sway bar isn't going to do anything for you. If you do turn hard enough for a sway bar to do something then that trailer is going own you.

Where do they crack? Do you have a pic? Might put that on my inspection list when I do oil changes.

I've had my front swaybar removed for about 4 years now. Have not seen a difference, though I have rear Airbags filled all the time so that balances the truck... BUT I am taking a risk if there were to be a accident that something may happen... so be advised

I have a 2013 ram 1500 and I can't find one either! I've checked several scrap yards with national networks and the dealer is almost $500 and 4 or more weeks out! And there are two or three different ones used depending on your trend level and they all are very similar but different lengths...
