What would the sound difference be between the Mufflex bolt in muffler and the Solo bolt in Kit>? They look similar, would one be louder? I want louder than stock but I didn't like how my straight piped 5.7 hemi sounded... Way too raspy. I want loud but not raspy for 6.4 Hemi PW... Stock sucks.

Looks like the MR400 kit would be perfect!

The MR400 kit does a great job of cutting back the rasp while offering a louder than stock deep tone. I can not speak on the Mufflex kits as we do not offer them. I can say the Solo is manufactured solely by Solo, them make the muffler, the whole kit, where the mufflex is usually a magnaflow muffler that they weld into their kits.

Nick,
You got any documented test data for torque increase? I don't care much for more noise without more pulling torque.

Was planning to put LT Headers on, but that fell through. A huge PITA in an HD frame anyway, but I know it definitely yields +5-10% torque increase across the rpm spectrum.

What do we get with a $400 MR400 besides noise?

I do not have any data on that, possibly the manufacturer does. It is a a muffler kit. you are not going to get any ground breaking numbers here especailly considering the wieght of the truck you are putting it on. A mod like this is mostly for sound. You want more power from your exhaust then you need to change those manifolds and the ypipe. That is where the noticeable power increase will come from. The MR400 does flow better than the stock muffler, especially since it has that stupid flap in it which is very restrictive but as long as the restrictive manifolds and y pipe are feeding it you wont gain any noticeable power just from the muffler kit swap.

Interested in installing one of these on my 22 Rebel. I guess I would want the quietest one because I do tow. Had Carven progressive on a 17 and loved it except for the drone, but Hated it when I had to tow.

Definetly dont want the delete lol, the quietest one is probably your best bet if you tow often or far.
