I have air suspension on my 2014 ram 1500 eco diesel and I am swapping to regular suspension. I am getting a 3” lift in front and would like a 2” lift in the rear. The lift kit I’m getting comes with a 1” rear spacer also. I tow a 5000 pound dry weight toy hauler 1-2 times a month. Im looking at the bilstein b12 coil springs for the rear but saw they may not be good for towing? Most of my driving will be empty. I do plan on getting the airlift 5000 air bags. Is there a better set of springs for what I need? I still want a comfortable ride for daily driving. I also saw the super lift 2” rear coils as well? Does anyone have experience with either of those or another 1 to 2” rear coil?

I run eibach rear coils. They are 10% heavier rated in the heavy section of the springs and quite a bit softer in the upper section. I have no issues daily driving with them. Maybe contact @Nick@GotExhaust and he may be able to set you up with a full package or just rears if you already have the fronts.

I am a fan of the Eibachs, they ride nice and since you plan to get air bags I wouldn't worry too much about if the spring is good for towing. The Eibachs do have a little heavier rate so they should help a little. Message me if you would like to discuss options and pricing.

The eibachs said they can only be used with eibach shocks is that true? I only need the rear coil springs and that’s it.

Do you have eibach shocks or just coils? Did they give you the 1” lift as advertised? I’m getting the rough country 3” lift kit with the n3 rear shocks.

Do you know if the rear coils are side specific as well? I don’t want a lean. And you may be able to answer my other question I replied to the other guy with. My tongue weight on my trailer is advertised at 600lbs. Do you think I even need air bags? I have a weight distribution hitch already.

Watch your airlift system most systems like that will not work with air suspension deleted trucks. The bumpstops mounts on the air ride trucks were taller than non air ride trucks. I just found this out and the only way i would have made them work is modify the bumpstops and cut them off and make them shorter and reweld to the frame, or modify the upper bag mount and try to make that work. When i installed the bags they were compressed down to about 2 inches and if i would have hit a bump they would have been pinched and split. If i aired them up i would have had a heck of a rake on the truck. Since your doing a lift you may have enough space to make them work properly

That would work out in my favor then honestly. I did see you could cut something off to make it work as well. Thanks for the advice tho! Did you not have to cut off the jounce stops for the install? The kit I’m looking at says to cut them off. Also says it won’t work with factory air suspension vehicles

Even with those cut off i did not have enough room for the bags.. with weight on the truck the bags were compressed down to about 2" and no suspension movement left. I would have had to cut the mount right off the frame and make it as short as i could and weld it back on. I tried 2 different style of bags and now i just went with the bag that fits in the coil. I could have made it work if i wanted to spend a day or 2 modifying things.

The ones I’m looking at seem like they mount directly to the frame. Gotta drill like 2 holes or whatever. And when I emailed them they said they will fit as long as the factory air suspension is removed.
