After 4 Years.... Bye Bye!! Quality was bad and the RAM service was HORRIBLE!! Truck parts failing in the first year and then after leaks and the Uconnect and climate controls completely failing at 19.5K miles... fighting with the dealership again for over 2 months... I was DONE!! I ordered the Tundra and here it is. The best day after buying my RAM was the day I got rid of it!! I was warned that my RAM electronics and truck would fall apart around the Cummins engine and they were right!! Love the engine but that doesn't matter if the rest of the truck doesn't work. No AC all summer in Las Vegas NV!! Really at 19.5K miles I had to get rid of it??!! RAM... Never Again!! 4105.jpeg

Sorry to hear it didn't work out.

It's probably a nice real truck. I think I would be having re-occurring nightmares over the Toyota's freekishly ugly grille. Other than that it's probably a good rig. Hope it works out better for ya.

At least you got your Tundra. I have a friend that had one ordered for 2 1/2 months till he got tired of waiting and went GMC.
He actually got a Denali for 2500 off sticker and it had all it’s features! Maybe things are starting to normalize for some.

I understand your frustration. I am a life long Chrysler fan and have had 4 of these Ram trucks. I ordered a 22 Classic to get a Reg Cab short bed 4x4 and it is having major issues at 6 months and 7k. All dealer is telling me is I have a lot of warranty left, as there is no lights on dash and no codes stored.

Congrats. I understand the frustration. I had a similar experience with a brand new 2003 Silverado. By the time it hit 22,000 miles it had been back to the dealer 13 times. What a POS. Got rid of the truck after 3 years which is unheard of for me.

I just bought a 2022 Classic less than 2 months ago. I'm a Toyota fan but I didn't want to risk buying a first year. The lack of Toyota inventory and the BS that brings didn't help either. Thought I'd be safe with the Classic and I factory ordered it with the configuration I wanted.

Glad I bought an extended warranty! Haven't heard much good about RAM's customer/warranty service. Hopefully, I won't need it.

Best of luck.

I'd be interested to know what troubles you're having.

I used the extended warranty on a gas tank replacement. Everything went well.

You are aware you could have switched to the Tundra and just went away? You didn't have to bash your previous vehicle on the way out the door. What is that old saying don't go away mad, just go away.

Okay
1. The truck acts like it has a clutch when cold. Goes into gear but slips/flairs till up to speed.
2. The truck shutters when trying to downshift.
3. When towing a trailer and trying to back up an incline (my driveway) it slips and takes a lot of RPMs
4. When towing trailer on highway at 60mph truck will run 4K to 5K on RPMS, can not get it to select higher gear. This happens in tow/haul and normal mode. 6x10 utility trailer empty.
5. All most every stop sign there is a clunk when taking off.
6. Start truck, by the time you put seat belt on truck dies.
7. Start truck and it stays at 2K at idle until you hit the throttle.
8. Base radio with CD player freezes up. Has very bad lag.

I've taken this truck in to be looked at and all I got was the "we can not duplicate the issues" line.

Hey, I really tried for 4 years to get this rectified professionally and RAM didn't do it. Maybe this story will help future RAM customers. If the quality was good and actually if RAM/Dealership would have just taken care of the issues without all the trouble this would have never been heard of!

I love Toyota's, but what gives with that "cheese grater" grill? At least it won't leave you stranded, ever.
Personally, I've never had one issue with my Ram. You should've gotten the "Classic" I guess?
Dependable yes, but it'll never have this kinda style.

Someone within the Toyota higher-up's must be fascinated by idea of a giant steel Manta Ray going down the highway gobbling up all the Zooplankton hatchbacks. If they just toned-down the front grille 20%, it would be a nice-looking truck. They are generally built well enough. Unfortunately, I'm shallow ..and looks matter to me.

Edit: Oddly, the 2012 Tundra grille's looked like a copy-cat of the Ram front ends. Sales of Tundra's have been disappointlingly slow by Toyota standards. They probably figured, go BIG or go home..for the 2022's.
