I‘m due to change the fuel filters for the first time on my 2016 Ram w/6.7 Cummins (I bought it used). I’ve been running Fleetguard oil filters, so I thought I‘d use their fuel filters as well. Problem is, I can’t find any part numbers online. I’m told my truck has two fuel filters. Can anyone provide me with some Fleetguard part numbers? Fleetguard’s website is useless. Thanks.

I have always bought mine off Amazon, the prices on these have varied a lot over the last 3 years. They are currently less then I paid in January, but more then I paid 2 years ago.

I've had my truck now for 2 years this coming April and did full time rving - bought truck with 83K miles on it and now it has 114k miles on it, thru 27 states west coast to east coast and east coast twice (one down and one up). Since I've owned it, I did 3 fuel filter changes and all 3 times I've bought the AutoZone Duralast Fuel Flters #FF240DL for rear filter and the #FF818DL for engine fuel filter. NEVER EVER had an issue with them and my CarSheild warranty has NO problem with me buying and using these on my truck. You can get both for $110 before tax and military discount taken off.

Just think of all the different qualities of the diesel fuels I've bought over those many states and miles, and again, NO problem with these Duralast Fuel Filters.

If a person does not have an OEM warranty you can use what every cheap filter you want too, but the owners who have an OEM warranty have to use filters that meet OEM 3 micron spec and right now only Mopar and Fleetguard meet those requirements. I don't have 20K laying around to pay for a new fuel system all because I wanted to save $30.00 on 2 filters once a year.

UMM I dont have "OEM" warranty. I have EXTENDED warranty thru CarShield.

Rear Mopar Fuel Filter is 3 Micron / Fleetgaurd is 2 Micron
Engine Mopar & Fleetguard Fuel Filter is 5 Micron

Prices for mopar filters for the two ranges for both: $127 (amazon) to $150 (mymoparparts.com) and up to $182 (Dieselpowerproducts.com) and you have to probably pay for shipping and what.

Duralast Fuel Filters
Rear filter - FF240DL is 5 micron
Front filter - FF818DL is 4 micron @ 98.8%
I called up Duralast Tech Support directly.

Cummins recommends a min of 7 micron.

Duralast filters: Meet and or exceed all original equipment requirements. All warranties remain in effect. High quality fuel filter components ensure OEM replacement for form, fit and function. And they been around since 1986.

Seems just about any of these: Mopar / Fleetgaurd / Duralast ALL can get the job done.

You do know that the Cummins 7 micron recommendation was for the older diesel engines... IIRC it was around 2012 time that Cummins required the 3 micron engine bay fuel filter, but as I said you have no OEM warranty so you can use what ever you want.. BTW did you really think Duralast was going to admit there 4 micron filter does not meet the OEM 3 micron requirement???

You do know that on Cummins website under fuel filtration products: featuring fleetguard fuel filters that are 4 micron......

Also from that same site states: The critical particle sizes for modern injection systems are 4 and 6 microns

So once again Duralast Fuel Filters do meet what is required.....

Oh and this from Fuel-FactSheet from Cummins Filtration site: 50% of the worldwide diesel fuel supply does not meet OEM specifications for cleanliness; particles greater than 4 microns in size are known to cause wear to these sensitive systems. (Yet again they mention 4 micron)

And from Mopar owners manual states to use 3 micron engine bay filter { We recommend using Mopar® Fuel Filter. "Must meet 3 micron rating" (engine mounted filter). Must meet 5 micron rating (chassis mounted filter). So tell me how a 4 micron meets the Mopar 3 micron nanonet Spec??? BTW I added the " " marks...

Thats funny!!!!

My manual says RAM all over it, nothing of Mopar in writing.

Page 196 states: use of oem filter is required to ensure vehicle will run.

Does not say a min micron amount....

And you know what's funny, my truck runs just fine lmao

Plus ya can't compete with the facts coming directly from cummins website =

also "if" Duralast Fuel Filters are sooo bad, then why is my truck still running/working? My mpg is 20-24 for a stock 6.7 cummins

Just stating hard facts...

I have been around Cummins engine for over 25 years and not the small ones is our trucks... OMG I shocked that you didn't know that Ram filters are also known as Mopar and have been for one heck of along time... And no a 4 micron filter does not meet the 3 micron nanonet spec for the engine bay filter, 4 micron is still bigger then 3 micron so it can not meet the 3 micron spec that Ram/Mopar requires or it didn't when I was in school..

BTW, no one said the filter you use is Bad not sure where that came from, I stated that 4 micron fuel filters do not meet the required 3 micron nanonet spec for those who have a OEM warranty ( hint I said OEM aka Ram) those who have an OEM warranty still need to use filters that meet OEM requirements aka the 3 micron nanonet spec, if they use any filter that is not rated at 3 micron, they run a high risk of having fuel system warranty denied because they did not use the required 3 micron nanonet filter. BTW I have seen and read the Cummins fact sheet a while ago and that sheet that has nothing to do with the Ram/Mopar 3 micron nanonet filter requirements....

2018 Ram>>>> I use Primary Mopar MO-867, Secondary Fleetguard FS53000. Use OEM of Cummins/Fleetguard. Your injectors (and wallet) will thank you

My Truck is 2015 Tradesman bought brand new. I, too, use Duralast or any other filter brands from Autozone or Oreilly. Whatever is the cheapest. Never had any problems with my stock truck. For the oil, I used Chevron Delo from Costco. 1-2 years ago, Costco has been selling their own diesel oil and that is what I have been using lately. For the oil filter, depends what's on sale. I do like Fram because it has that black sandpaper grip on the end.

Some people do like to spend more on items such as these just because someone had written something in the web and it becomes gospel.

When it comes to compliant agencies, if the passing grade is 5 microns, they will stop at 5 microns. These people will not continue and try to find the smallest particle. That is not what they do.

Just traded my 2016 ram 3500 with the 6.7 Cummins. When it comes to fuel filters Mopar or Fleetguard only . These trucks require a 5 micron filter rating which aftermarket filters don't meet . Try Genos .com based in Geogia. All they sell is Ram Diesel stuff . Also join TDR , you will find it on their website , lots of info there.
The last Mopar fuel filters I changed actually had fleetguard stamped on them . Also check out Motorcity Mechanic on YouTube, has multiple videos for that truck .
My thought is it worth saving $50 only to ruin $6000 worth of injectors + installation.?
