Question for you guys, can the Pentastar fan be made to work without PWM? Like just wire it into the the existing Hemi wiring or does it HAVE to he PWM controlled?
The module I have from RPM extreme still sitting in my garage has a bypass wire on it that I can tell the fan to turn on full speed but still goes through the pwm. I may wire that in and use the factory relay as a 12v trigger until I can figure out the computer side with Alfaobd

I'm Sure Jay Green is wrong when he said run a cooler t-stat to maintain timing.
I just used it as a reference point.
I'd think stock at 220-225* would run fine while timing is being pulled. At some point the engine can't have a lot of timing and a hot engine. I get they can run that hot at 220-225* for emissions, but performance and emission never go hand in hand.
As for the v6 efan. I wish the hemi efan was able to be swapped. Much more cfm.
Why Can't the HEMI efan be swapped into the V-6 frame, are they different fan blades or motor size.
That was actually my plan to find a V-6 fan that was bad and swap mine over to it. What am I not understanding about this swap?

Read up a few comments. Someone explains it better. Has to do how it gets power.

The newer hemi efan is a completely different setup which is actually what I’m working on acquiring so I can try to see if it’s possible to run it on our trucks. If not I’ll send it back and order the pentastar fan since I know it fits our trucks. I have a separate module to run the fan since as of right now we cannot run the pwm signal needed to control the fan with the hemi setup. Not sure why. May be extra programming and other parts needed besides the obvious but not many people have tried digging into it. Unless of course you are talking about the condenser fan that’s on the 4th gen hemi trucks. That motor is the same as the v6 fan. I swapped a dorman assembly into my truck and swapped the dorman motor out for the factory motor from the condenser fan. You have to reuse the fan blade from the v6 assembly though

what electrical reasons ...your just swapping shrouds
On the V6 efan swap, yes. Not on the V8 swap. A few posts up someone talks about it. The PCM send a code or something through the electrical if it not there, it wont turn on. You can't even put the wires on a battery to turn it on. It wont.
The V8 efan is a "PWM" efan as the V6 one isn't.

So it sounds like the Pentastar and new Hemi efans have some circuitry and logic built in them? Wonder if there's a way bypass it and just send 12v to it to have it run on/off, should be a simple electric motor in there...

I thought someone tried it and it didn't work.

It is not a simple thing. They are brushless motors that require the board in the motor to work but that board requires the pwm signal. I’ve had the pentastar fan running with the module I have. It has a bypass in it to run a 12v switch to the module to tell the fan to run full speed but that defeats the point of having a variable speed setup. Also pointless to spend the money on the module for just that. I’m giving it another go on getting the canbus signal to work then see about the bigger tow package fan possibly being a viable option. From the 5th gen. That’s a huge fan.

Can't wait to see what you come up with. I'd switch my v6 efan for a v8 efan.

Well given I know the module runs the pentastar fan I’m really hoping it’ll run the hemi fan. It’s mostly a matter if it’ll even fit on our radiator. The 4th gen pentastar fan carried over into the 5th gens v6 if RockAuto is correct. I traced the part numbers through. The module can always get reprogrammed though put quite a few fans use the same signal so high hopes.

I remember reading your old threads about you trying it in the past.

Look what’s here. I need to do a test fit. That won’t be tonight though. This fan looks like a monster and looks well put together. It looks like it should line up too but won’t know till I get a free afternoon next week. The motor directly says 600 watts. Anyone with a v6 2013 and newer can see if their fan motor is labeled?

That's awesome.
I'll see if my OE V6 has a label and if so I will snap a pic in like an hour or so.

I used a tool from Amazon and CFM was 3250
