Electrical cable hanging by ball joint

I have a 2004 1500 5.7 4x4 and I noticed an electrical connection hanging loose by my front bumper near the driver side wheel well.I have no check engine light and everything appears to be running fine.any clue what this is?

That doesn't look like a ball joint( a ball joint is above the wheel, allowing it to flex), That appears to be a body mount. Do you have a air bag system? You need to follow the wire and it will tell you something, best of luck

Wonder if it's part of the harness for an optional engine block heater.

No factory airbag systems for any 3rd gen and that's an OEM connector.
Wonder if it's part of the harness for an optional engine block heater.
3rd gen block heater is literally just a 110v plug and cord that feeds into a hole in the side of the block:

That could possibly be the wiring harness for the fog light system. They were put in even if yours didn’t come with fog lights. Someone correct me if I am wrong

Most likely are correct, that's why I asked if he had factory fogs already or not.
