Bet it'll still have the Tick and broken exhaust bolts somehow.
I think you're on to something. They could feature that as a bit of audible effect like some of the other EV manufacturers do. Sales will be stronger because of the familiar sound. :happy175:

OK, it impressed me a tad more than I expected. Here's my rundown.

Good
1. LOVE the new RAM Box idea.
2. Midgates for the win! This draws me to the Silverado EV too.
3. Suicide rear doors. I miss that in older extended cabs. Really gave the cab a roomy feel on entry and exit. As long as the rear doors can work without opening the front door.
4. Styling is still obviously RAM.
5. The exterior lighting is awesome.
6. The true middle split rear tailgate.
7. A Frunk! The passthrough to frunk is meh, but the frunk overall is nice.
8. The center console with the extending work space is neat.

Bad
1. That bed/cab line, ugly and basically makes the truck lie about it's bed size.
2. No buttons on the dash. I NEED REAL BUTTONS RAM! That's why I bought a 5th gen, buttons. Stop trying to follow Tesla.
3. Very low, but I get that for aero purposes, but still don't like it.
4. 3rd row seating. Really? NOBODY will use that. At least if they are smart. I'd rather have a larger bed. Remove that crooked line, and make the bed what it should be.
5. That awful steering wheel. Blech.
6. No driver gauges/screen behind the wheel, or above the wheel or straight ahead. Hopefully it has a HUD, and a really GOOD HUD.

Meh
1. Frunk passthrough, way too small to be useful.
2. Seats look OK, but nothing exciting. Hopefully they have some flexibility.
3. The roof glass. Pretty... pretty useless.
4. They didn't show if it had a HUD. I love HUDs. Hate that I bought a 2020, and not 2021 5th gen with the HUD.
5. No specs yet. Come on RAM, I know your late to the game but don't push it.

I came from GM trucks to my 5th gen RAM. So glad I did. But the new Silverado EV seems to hit more buttons for me (get it! real buttons :) ) This new RAM is beautiful to say the least. But seems to me RAM went too far. Way too far in some areas. I know many folks hate the idea of an EV, but I personally love it. I will never not own an ICE vehicle. But hope to have an EV sometime soon, as I've driven a few and the difference is worth it to me. Batteries will get better, and charging will improve. I don't expect ICE to ever go away completely, but do worry it will become super expensive at some point. Especially as technology on the EV front improves, and newer motors and batteries hit the market that take away all the stress of range and charging. I'd expect to see 1000+ mile cars and trucks in the next 5 to 10 years. That and range extending options on trailers to make towing less of a worry. I.E. batteries stored in the trailer that help the truck go farther. Expect a new trailer plug standard for that soon.

I'm excited RAM finally released this. Now, patiently waiting the real truck reveal and road tests.

Fugly !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not fer dis BOIRD... Imagine: RAM making a truck and they put an APU/Genny in it to charge batteries to increase room, might as well do that also: Hmmm, wat gonna run that unit: Fuel: defeats the concept, LMAO. Me thinks circus vehicle like dem lil cars and all the folks get out, reminds me of stuff the phone booth in the 60's.

I'll pass on this one.

It might be a concept vehicle at the moment, but don't be surprised if it should go into production just as it appears right now in functionality, shape and form.

My 2017 RAM functions and does what I need it to do. I'm not about keeping up with the Jones or Smiths. But then again, I (we) may be forced to comply.

I keep looking at it. Please let it not be yet another vehicle with a low roof line and nall windows that make you feel like you are driving from a pit. Tall windows, large mirrors, things that make working a truck easier. Cameras are nice and I use my backup one in conjunction with all of my mirrors but a failure at the wrong time can happen, but mirrors don't turn off. Don't ever try and be the Tesla truck with removable mirrors, people sometimes have a hard enough time bring responsible, don't give them more ways to create chaos.

It doesn't matter to me what it looks like. Nor do I care what new fancy farkled-up feature it has. And NO I don't care whether the controls are all on a 12 inch screen or uses knobs and buttons.

I'll buy an electric truck ONLY when there is one that I CAN AFFORD that can tow my 6,000 lb travel trailer for half a day over 350+ miles (on a single charge) and can be recharged in less than 10 minutes for another 350+ miles for the rest of the day. In other words it's got to have the same range and refill capacity as my 2021 EcoDiesel with its 33 gallon tank has.

I really don't care if it's even more powerful, fancier or faster than what I've got now.

I keep trying to get over that dash, but gawd that dash puts a bad jive on an otherwise good looking truck.

Looks like a GoBot (remember those? pre-Transformers) with flashing lights, $100k price, and limited range and payload.

Only a hipster would buy that.

Other that that, it's all good.

If you can hear the software errors, yes. All 3 trillion lines of accurate code.

I fret that even though it is a concept, they took a lot of current truck user input but still missed major points we gave them.

That tells me they're trying to target new non-truck owners. Which also means they're gonna flop.

Yeah, definitely one of those "what could go wrong" moments..

I know of what I speak - besides being in the industry 22 years, I was in U.S. Navy before that. USN cancelled an ENTIRE ship class because it took the contractor 3 years to get the software to work with God knows how many trillion lines of obtuse software code.

Coders out of control in this world. Glad I'm retired so I don't have to fight them anymore, except for my home stuff like this truck.

Coming from a diehard mopar fan, that’s one of the ugliest EVs I’ve seen and definitely the ugliest of the few electric trucks out there. I see nothing attractive or practical about the design or aesthetics. I’m also against EVs so maybe I’m biased, lol
I'm diehard Mopar guy too and will never stray. I like some exterior aspects but overall not good. As others mentioned production vehicles are rarely (if ever) even close to concept. In this case, thank goodness :)

Yes things must evolve but this is not evolvement. This is a wild concept (especially where cab meets bed) for PR. Of course these are just my opinions.

For the jump seats, I read an interesting article that stated the average American tries to solve the worst case scenario in their life. The idea is that people buy 3 row SUVs in case they will transport the soccer team instead of the usual rushing out the door late and getting to field when the game starts. So, how many people would now say they need a 3-row pickup and buy it?

I remember jump seats in our Mazda B2500 pickup. While you could ride back there, they faced inboard and only one person could fit. I guess the 1500 won't be marketed to me, I need at least a 2500 so will wait to see what that looks like.

But lose the ugly, software-plagued all-in-one electronic control system, I will NEVER buy a truck with that. Others here have already made great points in that.
