I had terrible experience @ BITOG, I don't lend them much credence to much of anything.
I agree it happens, and I mentioned I experienced it before too. With that said there really are some outstanding posters on BITOG. Clinebarger, Trav, and Molecule are the best of the best. Clinebarger and Trav are expert mechanics, and Molacule is a chemist with a wealth of tribological information.
BITOG still is a source of great info. The trick is to find it while filtering out the BS, like over the top moderation, arrogant "gas bags" that run their mouth 24/7, and in this case highly biased love for their sponsors.
HPL surely makes a great product, but don't think for a moment its not shamelessly pumped at BITOG. It has supplanted Pennzoil's in their slobbering love fest. Still, there is always great info to be found, as long as the filtering process is in place.
