I've been reading good things about Balster Surface Shield.

Uses Lanolin base - same as Fluid Film but cost less.

Home Depot prices

FF .89/oz

Blaster .78/oz

Youtube is in love with Blaster!

Maybe YouTube is, but even their own website only gives a 3 rating! Too many failed cans.

Fluid Film or Woolwax is all I've ever used. Fluid Film is available at Walmart now and is a value sized can at a lower price than other locations.

I've tried both. The Surface shield is too thick for my liking. Plus Walmart has tall cans of FF for the price of standard size can of Surface Shield. Performance wise I've seen tests where the SS held up over time better which is expected since it goops on so much thicker. I prefer the Fluid Film creeping properties.

I have used FF and Blaster and the only can of blaster I have is dead and its half full. Not worth it to me. Fluid film moving forward.

I've read a lot of "stuff" on alot of "stuff"! If I remember correctly the "fluid film and products like it need to redone on occasion (how often-no one says). So I am going to try a Rust-Oleum product, I will remove all inner wheel wells and brush it on. It's called Reform & Seal (part no. 344763). I believe it is a one and done. Mine (new to me from WV) will not see the upstate NY winters. Once I do it I will let ya all know how it was to do. Can not tell ya all of course if it works. I am old (70) and how long on the planet??? Just want it to last for me. Had my Dakota for 22 years, So I keep vehicle for a bit.

People don't mention how often to reapply because it depends on use of the vehicle. For my dually that doesn't see snow if I can help it but does hit the roads in the rainstorms I've only treated it once in 2019 and I do "touch up" sprays once a year. Inside the rockers it seems it would last indefinitely. The rear wheel wells it takes a toll but still shows signs of it being sprayed.
I tend to keep vehicles longtime too and is why I use it. I by the way still have my 94 Dakota so I know what you mean.

I didn't know SS was thicker. From the videos, it look thinner.

I only see 11.75oz of FF at Walmart and the FF site only shows that size.

The Walmart website is wrong. The Value Size cans are 15 oz. can for the price of the small can $9.97. Zoom in or go to the store and see it for yourself. Walmart has been the only place I've seen the tall boy cans.
