Grille’s are available affordably on the sale sites. I bought one and did a little custom project.
Im having trouble picturing the ‘18 sport grille. Images?
My Ram started out missing a lot features/options I really wanted. But its pure custom now lol.
How far are you willing to travel? Im up in VA, the normal part and I will keep an eye out for you.

You could sell the 18 Sport grille in a heartbeat and buy 3 normal grilles for the price that you would get for it :)

I know, they are 1500$ from mopar unpainted... I've been watching ebay for months hoping a black one comes up. Theres a flame red one up right now for $500 that's in good condition

I just think it's a nice look fully painted with the sport grill, nice modernization from the cross hairs, even though the cross hairs is classic it's very dated at this point

My city is in my profile…I do not go north of the Wall (Fredericksburg) ever…I use either 17/522, 81 or 301.
NoVA I would be in favor of annexing to DC or Maryland.
Not a fan of NOVA although my daughter goes to school in Fairfax. I’m down here in the SE corner with the beaches, bridges, tunnels and military bases.

I know it very, very well. You have a very good Ram mod resource near the little airport off 460.
Really? I’m familiar with the area near Hampton Roads Executive Airport on the way into Suffolk but don’t know of a Ram specialty shop near there.

Besides OEM, there are tons of relatively inexpensive aftermarket grilles of different styles if you go on Ebay (and probably Amazon too), which fit different year pickups. Lets an owner play around with different 'looks' if yer starting to get bored with the look of their truck (or didn't get the grille ya *really* wanted), for not too much money.

An owner can fit a new-style grille to an older ram (they were physically different), or cross-hair style if you like the classic look on a newer Ram ....paintable, chrome or whatever. Kind of neat to have those options, jazz up yer truck if the time isn't right to buy a newer/different pickup.

I was in the same boat as you a few months ago. I don't know what model you are looking at, but I ended up with a 2018 Power Wagon. This thing has all the bells and whistles. I LOVE the 6.4 Hemi, lots of power. Milage is decent @17 or so if I keep my foot out of it...LOL

Exactly. I bought a great condition chrome crosshair with black honeycomb. Prepped and color matched. I have the Big Horn chrome inserts as well, but I like the below best.

:shake: Thanks! If I find one around your area I'll let ya know!
Here's the '18 Sport grille. I definitely prefer the traditional crosshair grille

Had my eye on a Blue Streak Pearl '14 CC 6'4" 4x4 Sport in Missouri but couldn't make it out there this past weekend cuz of helping my parents move. Now it's gone :emotions122:

Now that's my kind of truck..... I'm digging that. (maybe ditch the running boards.. but)
That's essentially what I'm looking for, but hoping for the longer bed. We'll see. I spoke with a buddy that owns a carlot and he told me the same thing, the longer beds are very hard to find and near impossible to find that weren't sold new in Canada.

Unless your buying a used truck from a trusted family member or friend I would get something with way less than 36k miles and 3years old so you will have some warranty coverage. I just could never bring myself to spend $20/30k on any vehicle with close to 100k miles.

Why? As long as it has all of the maintenance records and receipts, what would it matter? If a family member or friend is wanting to get rid of one they may or may not disclose everything to you in hopes that they can get it sold. Not all will do that, but some will. It's a gamble. You can buy a low mileage lease/rental vehicle that's still in warranty that has a ton of problems. Done that once... (thanks Enterprise!)

My 2016 3500 had 95k miles when I bought it in 2018. I paid $43k for the truck. But.... it was one owner, local trade, and had every service record and receipt for anything ever done to it. The truck always performed flawlessly for me and most of the miles on that truck were towing miles.

Same with my current 2018 1500. I bought it with 65k miles on the clock for a little shy of $28k. One owner, local trade, every maintenance record and receipt in the center console (and in carfax as well... always serviced at the dealer). The truck looks and performs like a new one. I've got no qualms with it.

Paperwork is the key. I trust documentation much more than word of mouth. Condition tells a lot too. If you pay attention it's easy to spot when someone slaps lipstick on a pig versus a truck that has always been maintained.

IF you get one, check to see if it was originally sold in Canada.
Reason being is that most that are originally sold in Canada will not have a warranty in the US and not be eligible for even the Mopar extended protection plan.

This is if you find one with low mileage that you want, if the mileage is over the warranty period, don't worry about it :)

Just a personal preference I guess. I did say TRUSTED family member or friend also. I will spend a few thousand on something and if it blows up so be it. I also run a business and new trucks over 6k lbs give me a great write off. If it works for you fine.
