I just picked up my 2022 Warlock and I noticed that the second center console (the large bottom one) is hard to open.

The latch feels like it's about to break when opening it.
Did anyone else encounter this problem? I doubt this is normal, since the top part opens just fine.

Thanks in advance!

That sounds like a fitment issue. The latch is pretty solid in my '18, but I never remember feeling like I was going to break it to open it.

Maybe give it a little spit..... I would loose up the screws on the latch and see if you can adjust it. If all fails take it to the dealer and have the Fix it.

My 2016 is as solid as it was on day 1

I think a minor adjustment is what is needed

My '21 Warlock was a PITA to open and close the lower console when new, and the upper cover wasn't much better.

It seemed like I had to haul on it to open and near slam it to successfully engage the latch when closing.

After just over a year of ownership, it still requires a firm tug to open but not near as much effort is required.

Likewise with the closing, just a firm push and it latches closed. I'd rather have it close fitting than sloppy and lose.

You didn't bother fixing it?

Maybe I wasn't very clear in my post.

Mine was quite a PITA to open or close, when new. Now, I'm satisfied that it operates quite well.

Yes, it requires a firm tug to open either the top or bottom but nothing like when it was new. Also, it does require a slight bit of effort to close but it latches well and stays sealed with no rattling or loose, sloppy movement like several others I've experienced in the past.

To summarize; initially, I was planning to ask my dealer to investigate what I considered to be a defect in the latching system or the alignment of the same.

Now after about a years time, I'm satisfied with how it works.

If you're unhappy with anything on your new truck, I'd urge you to at least discuss it with the dealership's service department. Only you can decide what's acceptable for you and for the prices we pay for trucks these days, you/we deserve to be satisfied.
