Bumpy ride after Thuren upgrades

I installed Thuren's Fox 2.0 RR front 0.5" level kit on my '22 PW and loved the improvements. I immediately installed their rear Fox 2.0 shocks and stock-height spring kit, but I'm having the opposite effect - the rear-end ride characteristics are noticeably worse than stock.

At almost all speeds (especially over 50mph), the rear end never stops bouncing around unless the highway is absolutely perfect - it feels too soft. Could it be that this setup isn't ideal for 37s? Anyone have similar experiences? Looking for all options before reverting to the stock springs & shocks.

Could I possibly run their Fox 2.0 IFP rear shocks with the stock PW springs? The information on their site seems to say no, but it seems people are doing it?

FYI - All testing has been done with an empty bed. Improved ride quality is my ultimate goal. Running 37" Toyo Open Country ATs.

Have you replace the rear track bar with Thuren's?
It's been a very common issue with the rear suspension on these trucks

I don't think it's the rear track bar. I replaced mine with the Thuren kit and felt no difference. Nice track bar though.

I can't speak to the rear springs, I first used Icon rear springs. Absolutely loved the ride with those, but they weren't up to the task of handling the weight of my 4WC. I now have Carli rear springs, they are a bit stiff, but do the job.

For ride quality without the camper I would rate:
1. Icon
2. Stock spring
3. Carli

Hope you find what's causing this.

How many miles have you put on it? I installed fox 2.0s and within 500miles I blew 2 shocks out.

I've only put about 100 miles on the new setup. I'm not sure if these have a break-in period, so I'm planning to give it 1k miles before I revert to stock. Also planning to play around with rear tire pressures and may throw some weight in the rear to see how it impacts ride quality.

air pressure in the tires defiantly make a big change. I know Thuren tuned shocks are set up for their spring rates. if you want utilize the shocks you will need Thuren springs as well.

Tire psi? The rears should be significantly less than the front to get it to work right……unless you’re towing or loaded heavy then tire psi needs to come up.

Thanks - I'm currently running 34-36lbs all around (the reading changes daily). Should I go up in the rear or down in the front?

Did the 37’s go on simultaneously with the suspension, or were they on there before?

The 37s were on with stock springs & shocks before this upgrade.

Are you running air bags or timbrens. Honestly Don is the man to answer instead of the internet peeps. He’s a bit backed up but usually will respond within the week. Or reach out to Andrew at Thuren as well.

No, suspension is stock minus front and rear Thuren shocks/springs + front trackbar.

its been hashed out before. your driving over roads with expansion joints every 8' or so. 800lb axles going up and down several times a second sends those forces through the springs to the frame and the shocks arent able to control it

The rear tires should have considerably less air than the front…unless towing or loaded down.

put sidewalk chalk on the treads. front end is about 1000k heavier but i wouldnt go considerable higher pressure. chalk will tell you what to do

I'm running Thuren rears springs, proper length Bilstein 5100 series, 50 psi in 35's, airbags with daystar cradles (2-10 psi used as bump stops depending on load). Mine is floaty, not bouncy. Front's done the same (with no airbags of course). Best bang for the buck upgrade I've done to any truck. I can blitz speed bumps at Home Depot with a cup of coffee in my hand and the truck gobbles up washboard dirt roads here in the SoCal desert which is what I needed. Shocks will get hot and fade but good for several miles of "Baja 1000 practice" which is a treat as opposed to stock which felt like the dash was going to rattle out of the truck.

I'm having all 4 tires rebalanced just to confirm that's not the issue.
Thanks for the advice, I'll try the chalk method after the rebalance is complete.

Is it more of a floaty feeling or is it more of sharp small bounces....

Bounces, so rapid that it almost feels like a vibration. It's not constant, but its frequent at certain speeds, so I'm trying a tire balance just to rule that out.
