I just brought my 2017 Ram 2500 Laramie, which I bought new, in for new fuel filters and an alignment. I was informed that due to the V06 recall fix I had done in 2019, which was to weld a nut on the drag link, they were unable to perform the alignment. Apparently once welded, adjustments cannot be made The recall fix forced me to cover the cost of the new drag link and nut which is what RAM should have provided in the beginning instead of a weld. I am beyond frustrated that this is even allowed as a recall fix. I had to pay over $900 for the new drag link and nut so I could have an alignment done.

I bought my 16 3.5 years ago that already had the drag link welded. I didn't have any problems having an alignment done on it. A competent shop can grind the tack welds, adjust, and retack weld it. I agree it's a **** poor recall that's why I bought a synergy drag link so I don't have to deal with it. A few guys on here have gotten their welded drag link replaced for free with the updated one.

Maybe @RamCares can help you out somehow.

Ram would have replaced it for free if you reached out to them first (not your dealer). Had mine replaced with the new version free of charge after contacting ramcares.
