The document below lists all of the mirror parts, that hang on the outside of your truck. You will have to reference the sales codes to decipher which parts you need. Keep in mind, you'll still need the door modules, listed earlier. Also, verify that you do have the requisite wires, by using the techauthority page I linked earlier.

Sales Codes

Do you happen to have the mirror parts for the 2014 models? Thank you much!

Hello all,

Since there seems to be a great deal of Power Mirror Subject Matter Experts (PMSMEs) :) in this thread, I thought I'd ask if anyone here has any idea if a used pair of factory 2012 Laramie RAM towing, power folding, heated, puddle light mirrors - could be retrofitted to a 2011 RAM Laramie with powered towing, heated, puddle light mirrors?

And if so, what additional modules or switches I might need?

VIN available on request...

TIA

If the wiring is already there, you would need the door modules and the switch. Not sure if anyone has done a 2011 yet.

I went the other way, from power fold to tow mirrors.
i'll look at my power folders and get the part #'s off em...if needed...(I think that's covered already)

but yer gonna need a switch too for the folding option, I don't know if all the wiring ifs there or not...

the power fold is the one in between L/R

Well folks, Good news here!!!

I was finally able to complete this mirror conversion successfully. It came with a little bit of pain and hurt my wallet a bit but the final product was just what I needed. First, if you followed the other posts here in this tread, people need to know a few things before they try to do their mirror swap. 1) 2013-2014 vehicles have the outside temperature sensor in the driver’s mirror. 2) The door wiring should be the same for those years (ours was the same).

My vehicle: 2013 Ram Laramie 1500 with donor “Non-Power Fold” Tow Mirrors.
The other vehicle: 2013 Ram Laramie 2500 with Power Fold Chrome Mirrors.

We traded Mirrors, Door modules (one each front door) and one driver’s switch bezel. When I took the mirrors off I got a “Check engine Light” and the outside temperature read -40 degrees. As soon as I connected the “traded” parts (Power fold mirrors, door modules and driver’s side switch), all warnings went away and the temp sensor was reading now the temperature outside. Everything looked fine at that point, then when I started testing items I found the following issues:

- Driver’s door window lost the “One touch-up” feature, only was able to do the “One touch-down”.

- Passenger’s door window had both one touch up and down but when it was going “up” it stopped half way and came back right down (weird!).

- NO POWER FOLD!! Pressing the power fold button in the new switch did nothing!

As I expected (Thank you jeepguy_1980 for sharing all of your knowledge in this tread :) the computer just didn’t know that there was a new mirror outside and pressing the button did nothing. At this point I brought it to the dealer to have the BCM programmed with the new Sales Codes. (part 2 next.)

(part 2…)
Got to the dealer where I purchase my Ram and told them that I had traded my outside mirrors with another guy and they pretty much freaked and told me that I lost all of my warranty in those mirrors (Obviously!). I told them that I needed my BCM flashed with the new Sales codes (which I provided to them) and they took the vehicle in.

I told them that they needed to remove or replace the sales code “GPC” which is the one listed for my vehicle (Power Chrome Trailer Tow Mirrors) with the “GU4” sales code for the new Power Multi-Function F/away Mirrors. Also, they needed to add the sales code “LER” (Power Folding Mirrors)… that is it, simple right? Well, it was not simple for them at all. They called a few hours later and send me this response:

“There is no flash available for this. Attempted to add cust. Supplied sales codes, none of the code supplied are available to add for this vehicle. Attempted to add code for folding trailer tow mirrors (GPD). Restored vehicle configuration, power folding mirrors still do not work. Removed code and performed restore vehicle configuration again. This option is not available to add to this vehicle”

Bullcrap! I thought this is not right so I called back and asked to talk to the service manager, once I had him on the phone I explained to him what needed to be done again with the codes supplied by jeepguy_1980. They proceed to have the vehicle a part and took the panels off, wrote down the modules part #s and the mirror parts #s. At the end of the day they called back and told me that it was done and that everything was working in order now. Below is a description of the service performed, at the end they ended calling an “engineer” and he came down and flashed the BCM with the codes I told them from the beginning…. That was it! It is all working now and finally I have Power Fold!! And my windows work again. Happy customer, $149.95 dollars later….

If memory serves, I think after you change the modules and switch the windows have to re-learn the feature. I believe what needs done is the windows have to be operated all the way down and all the way back up holding down the switch. Once you do this, the auto features will be work correctly. I remember doing that on my Jeep Grand Cherokee.

I take that back. My switch is the same part number that Jeep Guy posted. Modules are the same as yours.

I notice the number on my power fold mirrors were not in the 2013 mirrors list that jeepguy_1980 listed before. They came off a 2014 Ram 2500 so they might have changed the number. The mirror is identical to the 2013 trucks.

I already have all the parts. SM emailed me back again, engineering is working so I can use the LER sales code. SM said it's pretty simple.
