power fold mirrors

Here's the deal.

1. You need the mirrors for your year of truck.
2. You need the door modules.
3. You need the switch.
Once you get that stuff, you can setup with your dealer to flash the BCM. The Service Manager will call his tech advisor to have the new vehicle configuration updated so they can flash the BCM with the Scan Tool. The dealer will ask you for the part numbers of the items you installed which he gives to the tech advisor. They need this for some reason.

I have the 2013 part numbers if you need them. You can get the mirrors off of Ebay and the switch and modules for around $200-$250 brand new from WeRMopar.com - OEM Parts For Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram Vehicles

where are you from? I have power fold mirrors and my dealer is waiting to sell a truck with tow mirrors that the customer wants power fold as I want tow and we can swap, im up north near timmins

I'm in the Toronto area, quite the distance from Timmins. If you travel in this area we might be able to do the swap.

As far as l can tell Sirul is the only guy in all my internet searching that has ever been successful in getting the power fold option to work after swapping tow mirrors with power folding mirrors,

I tried to PM him for the name of the Dealership/Service Manager (SM) that he used but it seems that he has disappeared from this forum. He posted that he was was successful in getting the power fold to work. He even posted part of an invoice/work order (actually doesn't tell you anything) that according to him showed that he was successful. I'd like to think that he was not making this up.

I purchased power folding mirrors from Ebay, just finished installing them and got everything to work except like everyone else who has done it, the power fold part.

k< i just wanna be clear before I go back to dealer with questions. I just bought a 13 Laramie that was equipped WITH the power fold in mirrors. I opted for the tow mirrors to haul the toys around. The deal told me "oh ya everything will still work" but the new tow mirrors don't fold in with the button. Can they do a BCM flash on my tow mirrors an dinput the new codes to make my TOW mirrors fold in? all the hardware shoud still be there as they just switched them on the weekend. Thanks guys

I purchased some power folding mirrors from a 2013 Larame along with the necessary door modules and drivers side window switch. I swapped the power folding mirrors, modules and switch onto my Ram like everyone else got everything to work except for the power folding feature.


As discussed in this thread, in order to get this feature to work, my rams configuration has to be changed by engineering and the new sales codes for the power folding feature have to be flashed to the BCM.



While this procedure has been done at several dealers in the U.S. my dealer after discussing with engineering here in Toronto says they are not allowed to do it.

In addition they tell me that the power folding sales code LER is a US code only. Is this B.S.?


Is there anyone in Canada that has done this swap successfully?

That's my understanding. Us 2012s and older miss out.

I spoke with parts yesterday at Team Chrysler. They spoke with service who have no problem with flashing the LER sales code into the computer. They have never done this, but are willing to try.

I am emailing the parts dept with the part numbers of the modules, mirrors and switch that people have posted here and other forums for them to cross check what he came up with on his computer.
I have a 2014 Laramie and when he looked up my truck vin he saw that not all the wiring was there and needs a harness or some wiring. This isn't what others online have been finding when they did their swap on their trucks.

I'll get back with what they figure out. If you want to pm me I can give you the details of who I have been speaking with. Maybe you want to talk to them as well.
