What a negative douche bag thing to say. You just can't help it can you.
Every and I mean EVERY time I've popped my hood it's been Wow that's ******* cool!!!

Meh, most people are followers not leaders.

Hence the reason the Varascam and ported TB's continue to be peddled to the flock of sheep.

As stated previously the fit, finish, quality, bs claims all are reasons to stay away from it.

I especially like when the hood seal rubs through the hood insulation for that custom look.

In regards to people telling you how much they like it, good for you. I'm glad someone else enjoys it just as much as you. That alone should solidify your purchase.

If everyone liked the same things or shared the same opinions this place would be just a giant flock of sheep....

While I won't join you in such a drastic rant, I do agree that many/most cai setups leave a lot to be desired in quality and VALUE. I was actually leaning towards buying a vararam until I started hearing some stories of the seals not lasting (excess heat caused the seal between the top of the vararam and the underside of the hood to fail) and then I had a hard time shelling out that much money for such meager gains. Then I saw the Diy stock airbox mod thread and I was sold.

I'm still researching a bigger TB myself; don't know if it's worth it or not....

The fact that I love it and I enjoy the performance results is enough to solidify my purchase. As for poor fit ment or rubbing holes in anything that has a lot to do with the install.

As far as the VaraRam quality, I think it could have been made a little better. I sold a $500 Volant cai to get the VaraRam, and though it was well built it had it's flaws too.

Theoretically (and with dynos and 0-60s to back it), no other cai can touch the VaraRam performance.

I felt the difference immediately, as did a number of other guys on this forum.

Putting all that aside, the other day my mechanic popped my hood and when he say the VaraRam one of his balls fell out of his pants!

That right there was worth the $350! Lol!

To each his own, don't follow me or Lhemi or anyone else, do what makes YOU happy on your truck. Just don't bash other guys choices. :)

I've run the AFE intake and it was a pos, ran a Volant and it was alright but had fitment flaws which where minor, I run an airaid intake on the 2014 hemi and it's well built and fit perfect, also gave a nice sound at WOT but no noticeable power increase. I've seen the S&B in person but never ran it but it looks well built and designed. I've seen the vararam in person and it looks cheap and poorly built, lots have quality issues, rain and snow ingestion and most never had an actual 1/4 mile time increase. The CAI on the new rams are all not worth the hp per dollar as the factory system is tough to beat, but you want that look or sound lots of CAI to choose from as what you personally like.
If you want better hp per dollar gains look at getting LT headers as they free up a lot of the potential hemi power.

If I was a betting man I'd bet an apples to apples stock truck/intake makes more power/et than an after market box.

Good call on the filter sock. Don't want to suck in that dust through that higher flow filter.

I like the Vararam look. I still have the stock one for now, 350 for CAI is painful.

What other mods do you have in mind for your truck? I have a had a few enclosed systems and think they are pretty good. They won't register too high on the butt dyno but you will hear a difference.

I put the VR Air Grabber(from Moe's) on my lifted RAM Sport a few weeks ago. My gauge for performance was all the very steep hills I drive on a daily basis. With the lift and the larger tires etc...at somewhat slow speeds the truck was downshifting fairly often. Once I put the VR on, I noticed a dramatic drop in downshifts and an ability to maintain a slow climb easier. By slow I mean 25-30mph. You will also notice it a lot at WOT (wide open throttle). When it hits the 2-3 and 3-4 gear transition, hang on!!! You can definitely tell the truck is not fighting for air.

Once you install the VR you can also do something fun like a dual battery setup on the passenger side.

My .02

Where did you get the batterie tray???????

^^^ Thanks for confirming that. Matt did post the dyno, but I couldn't find it...

I like the Spectre's too, great quality.

I put them on every gauze filter, easier to clean without bugs in between the pleats.
Wouldn't run a oiled type filter if I was in dusty locations since they filter dust out like crap.

Best CAI hands down is this one ;)
