Has anyone verified that only the chrome side mirrors have the memory/tilt in reverse function??? I found a set of black mirrors that seem to have quite a few wires compared to the standard base mirrors...

Are they OEM? TrailRidge sells a set of black tow mirrors with memory that are virtually indistinguishable from the OEM mirrors until you go hunting for the part number markings.

Yes, they are oem mirrors. I just contacted the seller and I was wrong they only have 4 wires.... it was just the angle of the pic that made them look like they had more wires.

Im kicking myself for letting a set go....someone on Ebay had them for 150, all I needed was new glass for the passenger side. Seller claimed they were OEM but couldnt test them because they didnt have a RAM. I didnt want to take the chance, but I think I should have!

They definitely had all of the wiring in place, seller sent nice clear pics.

Wouldn’t mirrors off a sport/black appearance package truck fit this bill?

I guess I’m talking 2500. I believe you can get Laramie with black appearance package. I’ll do some digging.

Yes Sorry should have should have clarified the Laramie with the sport package does have the memory mirrors as an option but the actual sport 1500 does not have memory.

I have an Autel scantool at work. If I get the bypass cable from M2,will I be able to make the changes? Or will I have to still use Alpha?

If you are currently running the 17.11.07 firmware it will work in the 13 to 15 radios. Or if you have a 2016 or newer radio in any 13 and and up Ram it will work. When Chrysler came out with the 17.11.07 Firmware it had a glitch that programmed the backup camera and the cargo camera to both be displayed on the screen like it is in the 16 and up trucks. They corrected it in the next firmware update which was 17.43.01 So if you update the 13 to 15 radios to to the 17.43.01 firmware it will stop working. If you have a 2016 or 2017 radio and you updated to the 17.43.01 firmware it will still function the same no matter what year truck it's in. Hope I explained this right and it makes sense.

I just checked my firmware on my radio and its 17.11.17. I haven't tried the CHMSL trick but is there a firmware between the two you said that I may have?

I'm not sure on the 17.11.17. I would assume the glitch had been fixed in that version but it just takes a few minutes to enable the code to check. If it doesn't work just disable the cargo cam option and it should go back to normal.

Been digging into this myself for the past few days. I recently found that power fold tow mirrors is an option on the later trucks. In my quest for info I found a 2017 3500 Laramie with VIN 3C6UR5NL0HG781561 that has power fold black mirrors with memory option. Ran the build sheet using the FCA site https://fcacommunity.force.com/RAM/s/equipment-listing and it looks like it runs out to be factual, you can get black power folding tow mirrors w/memory from RAM. No idea on the cost yet but will be looking into it for comparison to the TrailRidge version as I think I'd like to hang 'em on the truck.

Yeah that was my next step to enable the code and see if it works....just too lazy to try tonight! Wasn't sure if the 17.11.07 was a typo since mine reads 17.11.17. Thanks for the reply as always!

Radkawi....I went through this search for the memory mirrors just a couple of months ago going through Benny at AllMopar. Yes Laramie models with the Sport Appearance Package (SAP) can have BLACK mirrors. They also have other colors as well. The difference I found is that the BLACK and the other colors are PAINTED. Its not the unfinished black plastic cover like used on the lower trim levels. This made a difference for me since my stock mirrors ( an SLT ) are the unfinished black plastic and wanted to keep the same look, besides my Ram is Delmonico Red and I just was not sure how a painted black mirror would blend in since the painted mirrors have a shine finish. Of course the Laramie SAP painted mirrors are great if you can get a set in the color of your Ram. I was unable to find mirrors in the DR color so I went with the chrome.

I did a little digging through this thread but didnt come up with a definite answer, anyone know if its possible to adjust the threshold that heated seats/wheel will come on? I would love to adjust the required 40 degrees up a little higher.

No there is no setting that has been found that can be changed with the tool to adjust the outside temp threshold from the 40° or lower setting for the auto on comfort to activate.

Well my firmware version works! It still shows the hitch(tailgate) camera when put in reverse but, while driving I select controls and hit cargo camera and then I have to select the hitch camera to have it show up. Didn't test mph shutoff but the camera stays on while not moving but if the truck is moving forward, it stays on for about 20sec or so. Anyway, neat little feature.
