Recent bought my wife a 2018 Jeep Compass with the separate rear USB port plugged into the front hub that way (I need to take her console apart to get the harness and secondary hub OEM PNs)

Well since that didn't work. I got my wife's compass console apart. Unfortunately the Mini USB Male to Male cable isn't a separate PN from the rest of the console harness.

My thoughts about the above post...

Get a harness known to have the (RSK) USB cable in it... Strip it down to get only the USB male to male cable. Get the $44 remote USB hub and connect them to the extra jack on the back of the new 2018 USB hub in the console, then mount in the spare 12v outlet in front of console like @drozek did.

Quick questions....where do the 2 mini USB ports connect to and will Android Auto work if these aren't connected to anything?

One of those plugs into the USB cable that was used with your original ram USB hub (from the radio).

The 2nd port is used on other vehicles with a USB extension cable for a 2nd Row/remote USB port . We don't know if it would work in a ram yet and exact PNs needed (see post 1047 right above yours).

Maybe I'm missing something...shouldn't all the radio info be under System Information in settings? Only thing mine says is software version and even that doesn't say anything useful.

Dealer menu....
Press HOT + COLD + FRONT DEFROST for 6-10 secs.

The application version is the needed reference for what is installed on the UAx radios. If you have a UAQ, you can see the currently installed nav version (v11 I think is the the latest). Only way to get the PN with a UAx is from the sticker on the back.

Is the hardware part number the p/n of the radio? I'm guessing that the software version would be the uConnect software?

For a 2018 UAQ does anyone know how to turn down the volume for when you push the VR button on the steering wheel or when you get a text message read out to you? On my RA4 you could push the VR button then when it beeped you could adjust volume with the volume knob on the radio bezel but with mine it will only turn down after the beep then when you get another message or not voice recognition again it will be loud yet again.

Sorry for the late answer. You cannot solve that without an additional module, at least for older model years, not sure for your 2017 yet, but it looks like it has the same problem as the old ones. Customtronix from Sweden will offer an "all-in-one" module for retrofit, soon. It will have the "Heated-Seats-Fix", the "Navigation-Message-Fix" for the cluster display and the "Custom-Units-Fix" (which is your issue). I will report as soon as it is available, or feel free to ask [email protected].

Edit: Saw your solution with AlfaOBD. Congrats, hope, all works for you now. Older model years unfortunately have a lot more problems like completely missing or empty menus. CTX fixes that, too.

That's okay man thank you for the response though! This forum is so helpful. I got lucky and by disabling both the Distance Unit CSM & Speed Unit CSM through AlpaOBD and now everything is working 100% with every feature and settings are all there like on my previous RA4. I got really lucky and everything works as it should.

There were several folks that successfully used the 13-17 Ra4 VP4-CA (Canadian) radios in USA trucks without issue (no cell antenna/uConnect app service).

So I actually just realized today I have zero AM/FM signal whatsoever with the new radio. Should I take everything apart and double-check my install, or could this have something to do with being a radio out of a Canadian truck (I'm assuming I need to check my install for a loose connection maybe).

My bet is a loose antenna on the back (white one) or defective radio.
